Before LO was on a very structured bedtime routine (before 4 months), the hubs and I ate whenever we could - we never tried to have proper meals because LO's schedule was all over the place and we were just surviving. But now, almost 9 months PP, our schedule looks like this:

6:00pm - bath
6:15pm - pjs, breastfeeding
6:30pm - bed

Dinner for the hubs and I happens after LO goes down.

Until recently we just ate after we put my son to bed. We had an earlier bed time routine for him though so usually he is asleep by 7pm at the latest.

Our nighttime routine looks like this (DD is almost 2, and DS is 1 month):

4:00-ish - DD and DS are both up from naptime; feed DS and DD gets a snack.
5:00/5:30 - dinner
6:30 - bathtime
7:00 - pj's and a story
7:30 - DD goes to sleep; feed DS again and put him to sleep.

DH and I do the bedtime routine together; we switch off kids each night, so if I put DD to sleep last night, I'd put DS to bed tonight. We only eat later if we're going out (we'll put the kids to bed and make reservations for 8 or so), but otherwise, we eat early in order to fit everything in.

@chopsuey119: Thanks for asking! Much better. I finally bought some lanolin and that has really helped. I would say I'm nearly there and the poo seems to be returning to it's former color instead of the scariness :)

I guess we need to shift LO earlier. He'd been going to bed really late so I've shifted him earlier (like start the routine at 7, in the crib by 8) but that's right in dinner prep time since we eat pretty late.

We eat early dinners at around 5-6pm. LO gets a bath at 6 (almost bath time!) we let her play in her room for a bit, then I nurse her at 6:30. She's down by 7pm.

How do you handle night time routine? I'm just working on implementing one, but can't work the timing out. It seems like I need to be doing bedtime and making dinner at the same time! I know I could have my hubs make dinner, (and he does sometimes) but I like to cook most nights...
He could do part of bedtime, but LO is EBF so I have to feed him.
How do you handle night time? Do you just eat earlier or later? Do you trade off parts of the routine?
