We gave him an M&amp;M if he woke up dry. After a month, we weened him off the M&amp;Ms. Not sure if the potty in the room/reward really helped or if his body was ready.</p> <p>Also, he has his last drink with dinner at 5:30. I'm not worried about it. We do try to limit her fluid intake right before bed which helps some, but it's not the end of the world. She's never been one to wake at night to use the restroom (ever!). She's almost 5 and here's what we do (still) to help. She finishes with drinks by 7pm. She is reminded to use the rest room before bed (8-8:30). She gets a small drink of water (sips) when she brushes her teeth before bed. She's sent to the rest room when she wakes around 7:00. She's not a frequent user of the rest room in general. Without being specifically told to go on a normal day she will use the rest room 4 times? Wake, lunch time, after rest time, bed time. Their bodies do it when they are ready. My 4 year old has been trained for a long time and sometimes he wakes up dry, sometimes he goes pee in the middle of the night, and other times he wakes up sopping wet. Day trained over 2 years ago and no progress at night. I am trying to just follow her lead and I do really think it is a developmental thing. It is hard to be patient and not compare though. I saw a poll on here before and everyone is already night trained around the same time they were day trained. It makes me wonder too when he seem to know full well that he needs to get up and go, yet somehow he choose to lay there and relief himself... ack! Their body has to be ready for it (physically and emotionally) and for boys they could be 5 or 6 before waking up dry every morning. I honestly wouldn't worry about it at this point. For some reason the "night time potty fairy" has never visited us, and he still pretty much has a wet diaper every morning.</p> <p>Recently I have asked him if he actually wakes up and knows that he needs to go at night, but just pee his pants instead - and he said yes.... together with some excuses in the lines of he is too tired, and he'd not get enough sleep if he goes to the potty. So I really wanted to up the game, We bought cool looking 3D stickers, and he will get one if he wakes up with a dry diaper. School teacher also talk his ear off. Last week he was waking up with a dry diaper every other night as he got up and go pee. </p> <p>Then somewhere along the line, I don't know what happened, he just gave up. The past two nights he woke up with a wet diaper again. </p> <p>What would you do? I even bribe him and said if he can remain dry 7 nights in a row we'll take him to the toy store where he will get a toy that he selects as celebration. We'll see what happens. I am very tempted to say you'll get. say. a quarter if you wake up dry (He gets 25 cents a day if he collects enough stars for good behavior. $1.5 if he folds his laundry all by himself, which seldom happens). but i am not sure if this is something I want to to tie money to...</p> <p>Any advice?????? Anyone struggle with the same thing ? When do they realize naturally that it is disgusting just peeing inside your pants even though you are very sleepy? </p>
