Well, even if she stays awake, you can sleep...you know what I mean? Then her dad just deals with her for that span until the three hours are up and then you can feed her. Sometimes I did that just so I could sleep a little. Dads have their own tricks if you give them enough time—my husband sings her a weird song about animals that she likes (they make noises together). She doesn't fall back to sleep right away like with nursing, but eventually she did.

I plan to night wean at 2 no matter how difficult it is because I am completely exhausted and not willing to deal with it past 2 no matter how AP we are. I've tried a few technique with no success. We've tried havin DH console her but she is crazy strong willed and stayed awake for hours every time we tried.

The no-cry sleep solution had some ideas that may have worked. Such as reducing the time (so she latches for 5 minutes less than usual). We unfortunately decided to wean at 2 years old and just had daddy take him until he was ready to come back and not nurse. We also replaced milk with water in a sippy cup.

She might outgrow it, but when my daughter was doing that around the same age (she is now 17 months old), I sent her dad in to soothe her if it was under three hours (with rocking and singing).

My 15 month olds sleep really sucks. She loves to nurse and would be latched all night if I would let her. The problem is I can't sleep while she is nursing. I have very sensitive nipples and I cannot relax enough to sleep while she's latched. We're still waking ever 1-2 hours to nurse at night. I don't want to completely night wean her but would like to stretch her sleep to 3 hours at a time. Has anyone had any luck using a gentle parenting approach? I've tried to refuse and she will not go back to sleep unless I nurse her. I'm really needing more sleep but 100% do not want to do CIO.
