Wagon Jr. has had nightmares from a very early age. We always suspected so, and now that he can talk, we know they're definitely nightmares because he'll wake up (not really fully awake) and talk about "scary friend" or sometimes he'll be in his crib and cry, shake, and point to his shadow and back away. It's soooooo sad. But what can you do.... all you can do is comfort them and help them fall back asleep. :(

We think Evan might be having nightmares. Every couple of nights he'll be zonked out completely but suddenly cry out softly in his sleep and start to cry--no actual tears, but his body will shake and his lip will pout out and he'll cry softly. He never wakes up. I'll (or sometimes DH) put my hand on his chest and shush him gently or curl up next to him and stroke his head, and sometimes he stops and sometimes he doesn't.

Do you think he's having nightmares or something else? I can't imagine what he'd be having nightmares about at 14 weeks old! It's a little upsetting to me. Maybe he's dreaming about being abandoned because he can't sense us there?? He's never wet or hungry when it happens, and he doesn't have reflux.

Anyone else have any experience with this?
