We do cloth. Hemp insert + large microfiber insert + small microfiber insert. We haven't had a leak yet, but the diaper is always soaked and heavy in the morning. If that doesn't work, I would probably try either a fitted hybrid diaper with a wool cover or prefolds with a wool cover. Good luck!

@LittleGBee: Oh yeah I've also been thinking about getting a wool soaker to try, from here:
https://www.etsy.com/listing/167943465/wool-interlock-diaper-cover-twilight?ref=shop_home_active_1

We also do cloth diapers during the day (FuzziBunz), so I could put it over those or I was even thinking of throwing a wool soaker over the huggies overnight disposable.

Babies R' Us sells diaper inserts that look like giant maxi pads. We use those in combination with Pampers Baby Dry and no more leaks!

I'm not sure on moisture-wicking fitteds, but if you do want to try that route, you could buy a small amount of microfleece for a few dollars from a fabric store and line the diaper with it, as the fleece remains dry-feeling as the moisture goes through it.

@Seattlemom: I'll check these out, thanks!

@danda: Do you have any suggestions for a moisture wicking diaper? My guy has super sensitive skin and he didn't do well in the fitteds we rented for newborn use. Ultimately I would love to be cloth diapering him at night also.

Since you cloth diaper, try a fitted plus cover. I use Imagine or Sustainable Babyish fitteds plus cover overnight and it is super bulky but we've had leaks maybe once or twice in 7 months, whereas I had a horrible time with overnight pockets or disposables (admittedly, didn't try much for disposables).

My son is also a very heavy wetter. This post from Mrs. Confetti (and the comments) helped me a lot.

We now use huggies overnights with these inserts at night and during his long morning nap:

@LittleGBee: My son just turned 3 and some times he is great but other times he just pees out. Most of the diaper is dry but he is soaked. He is a tummy sleeper so it leaks out the top of the diaper. We did the size up and the nighttime diapers. We have tried huggies, pampers, pullups, seventh gen, target and none did any better than any of the others. I put hemp inserts inside of the disposable diapers and covers over the disposable diapers. But none of that worked for him. But he didn't start leaking until he was a toddler.

We now just take him potty multiple times in a night now. Hopefully he will nighttime potty train himself soon. But he doesn't wake up unless he is already soaked.

Before that, when hubby came to bed, he would change the diaper. When I went potty at night, I put on a new diaper.

I'm hoping to get some suggestions from the hive on this one.

We've been having nighttime diaper leakage issues with my son for a few months. He's a heavy wetter at night and he has peed through every solution we've tried so far.

He's 6.5 months and 20lbs. When he wears disposables during the day he wears size 3 Honest Co diapers, so we tried size 4 on him at night...didn't work. Then we tried size 4 7th Generation Nighttime Diapers on him, and he managed to leak his way through two of those last night. He always seems to leak out the side of the diaper, and we attempt to point his penis down, (though, he's a chunky guy, so it makes it a bit difficult). He's also a side sleeper, so that might be why he leaks out the side of the diaper.

We also cloth diaper during the day and when I'm not woefully behind on laundry, so we've tried double stuffing our bumgenius diapers, and our one kauai diaper. They seem super bulky, but he does have slightly less intense leaks out of those.

He's waking up every 4 hours, and we change him at either his 10:30 or 12:00 feeding, but he's typically soaked by his 4am feeding. I get the feeling that he would sleep for a longer stretch if it weren't for the discomfort, so we're highly motivated!

So, any suggestions for a nighttime solution for us? I might kiss you if you can figure this out for us!
