We found fitted diapers with covers the only solution for us at night. My favorite are either the Tots Bots Bamboozle or Thirsties Fab Fitted (with a hemp insert). With either diaper I lay a Swaddlebees fleece liner inside and use a Blueberry coverall. It has worked wonders for us. I always had leaks with my son in his normal daytime pocket or AIO diapers but nary a leak with fitteds and covers.

My daughter is a heavy wetter at night and I have yet to find a cloth solution for night time. What I have been doing is putting her in a sposie with a g-diaper insert in it. She needs stay dry so these inserts works well. She still manages to leak through them sometimes but very little, just enough to get her fleece pajamas a little damp. One night, I ran out of sposies and I stuffed a 4.0 with two Thirsties hemp inserts with a FB minky insert on top to help quickly absorb it. She didn't leak at all but she filled up the diapers and they weighed like ten pounds.

@Downward Dog: i don't know if they were the same brand as the amazon link, but i remember seeing a disposable 'booster' at babies'r'us if you were looking to buy them in a store

@Mrs. Bird. Thanks! I had never heard of the disposable inserts. I will try to find some to buy. I think the hemp inserts we use a baby kicks brand, but I will look into the Joey Bunz premiums. Ours are 70% hemp, I think.

Wow. We use cloth and just use BG AIO, OS and put an insert in at night with no problems. Hope some of these other suggestions help!

Wow, 22 pounds at 7 months!

I'm not much help because a disposable usually works for us. Our nighttime routine typically is a GroVia shell with snap in soaker plus a booster in between. With GroVia you can also snap the soaker in "backwards" if that makes sense so the wider part is up front.

i know someone who used to fold a thick washcloth in thirds & put it in a overnight disposable diaper. not sure if that would hold more than the hemp inserts though.

you could try something like this
http://www.amazon.com/Tranquility-TopLiner-Booster-Diaper-Inserts/dp/B000FCF0AS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1337102989&sr=8-1

or i don't know what kind of inserts you're using, but i've read really good things about joey bunz premium

Wow! We use Pampers Baby Dry and it works for us. DD also sleeps on her belly. I know you said that he just fits into size 4 but maybe you could try size 5? How much does he drink before bed? Could you somehow cut back on liquids?

We had similar issues, and the diapers that worked for us were the Fisher Price Night Baby Diapers.

My son is a pretty heavy wetter. A few weeks ago, he started rolling over to sleep on his tummy at night, and we started to get serious leaking diapers every night. He is 7 months, and we don't usually change him at night because it really wakes him up. We use cloth during the day.

Here is what we have tried so far:
Pampers Cruisers size 3: leaks
Pampers Baby Dry size 4: leaks (he is about 22 lbs, just big enough for size 4s)
Bum Genius OS pocket with a regular insert and 2 hemp inserts: leaks
Huggies Overnights size 4: leaks a little
Pampers size 3 with a Huggies Overnight size 4s on top: leaks
Huggies Overnight with a hemp insert: this cloth/disposable combo seemed to work, but we changed him in the middle of the night because he was up anyway.

Does anyone have any tips? I am really running out of ideas.
