I've had great luck with GMD workhorses (green stitching). I'd add a thirsties hemp insert and a wool cover.

Sposies. Problem solved. You’re welcome. :-)

It looks like a pad but doesn’t have adhesive. They are specifically made for leaky overnight diapers. You put it inside the diaper and it absorbs so much. We had nightly leaks and we sized up then did a sposie and zero leaks anymore. We did it until he started waking up with a dry diaper pretty consistently. Maybe 2 months ago?

@Mrs. Turtle: "Pull up" or overnight style diapers are one place where I have found brand matters. Target brand pull ups definitely did not cut it for my kids overnight, nor did the Huggies Pull Ups. We only were able to use Pampers Easy Ups. Because they stretch, you might be able to get a tight enough fit on her to put her in the 3T-4T rather than the 2T-3T and that should hold more volume.

What about an adult female incontinence pad inside the diaper? The commercials claim they absorb very fast, I just don't know if it would fit in a diaper!

Bamboo absorbs really quickly for us, so perhaps a bamboo insert on top with hemp underneath because it absorbs a ton, just slowly. What have you tried insert wise for cloth?
And I second the wool cover. You'll likely have to wash it more often if she's wetting through to it but worth it for warm dry toddler!

We use nighttime diapers (Pampers Swaddlers Overnights) for DS in one size up from his regular size, and then add these diaper pads during phases when he's drinking more water at night.

@Mrs. Turtle: DS2 can be a heavy wetter depending on how thirsty he is overnight and we also put him in a sleepsack that's made of a heavier cotton, like sweatshirt material, so that if he pees through his diaper and PJs overnight he doesn't get chilled. Usually the sack is thick enough to wick away any overflow moisture and keep him asleep until morning.

ETA: We use these from Vaenait Baby

We had this problem for awhile and it was exactly what you were theorizing - it was a flooding issue all at once. He was newly potty trained so used to "holding it" for a good pee and the minute he woke up he would release it all. I don't have any great solutions other than sitting on potty before bed (again, he was potty trained so understood the concept of trying), a waterproof mattress / acceptance that washing his sheets was going to be out norm, and in situations where it was a big deal we did a size 5 overnight with a size 6 put over it.

Can u try night time disposable underwear like UnderJams or Goodnites? Target makes a knockoff version too. They are to help older kids who bedwet so they are meant to collect a larger volume of pee. I'd do that plus lay either a beach towel or a puppy pad on the bed. Is she still in a crib? When we had a lot of reflux puke we used to double bag the crib. Waterproof mattress cover, sheet, waterproof pad, then another sheet. That way if there was puke overnight we just ripped one layer off.

GoodNites Bedtime Bedwetting Underwear for Girls, XS, 44 Ct. (Packaging May Vary) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015459WGS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_vLLYzbJ5111RN

@Mrs. Turtle: yeah, it's worth a try. We put bamboo inserts inside of our cloth diapers as the microfiber would never absorb enough. Our guy is only 7 months, though, but we did the same when our daughter was older. Leaking overnight is the worst because then you have to change them, the sheets, etc and then good luck getting them back to sleep. I hope you figure something that works!

@NorthStar: Hmm, I hadn't thought about wool over disposable. I do have one wool cover. I'll give that a shot. Or I could try wool over cloth, if I can figure out what inserts will absorb fast enough to keep up with her.

Have you tried wool covers? I haven't personally used them (we cloth diaper), but I've heard they absorb a ton. Perhaps use one over a disposal diaper. Or, put her in more than one disposable?

Ok, I'm out of ideas. O is leaking big time nearly every night. She's 22m, ready to daytime train, but she has kidney issues that necessitate water being available all of the time. So she sleeps with her straw cup and usually drinks 12-16 oz overnight.

We currently use target overnight diapers. Huggies overnights leak horribly. Sizing up doesn't seem to help. I've tried a few cloth combos and haven't found a good enough fit to prevent leaks. I think she pees a lot all at once, because sometimes the cloth diapers aren't even full when they leak. So maybe something that absorbs super fast?

Any other ideas?
