My daughter was EBF, and at almost 2, she still refuses to drink milk or any milk alternative. She just recently weaned, but she didn't nurse very much past 18 months. We make sure she gets calcium and protein from other sources. I wouldn't worry too much about it. See what your pediatrician says when you go in for your LO's 12 month check up.

A friend shared that article awhile back and i thought it was really interesting! Might make you feel better about not giving cow's milk :)

Our older daughter was mspi an she has never had any cow's milk. Goat's milk has many of the same proteins, so that's unlikely to be helpful. I prefer not to do soy because of the phytoestrogen effect. We did use some almond milk and rice milk, but they aren't overly nutritious. Our daughter didn't like hemp milk at all. She's just fine without any milks.

F will be one this week. For the past few weeks we've been giving him very small amounts of cow's milk (about an oz at a time) to get him used to the taste and he loves it! He'd drink much more if we'd let him.

Just in the last week or so, he's been having very frequent, loose stools (up to 5 a day). He's not otherwise unhappy, but he's got a mild diaper rash. I'm wondering if it's the cow's milk, so I thought I'd stop giving it to him for a few days to see if things clear up.

He is still breastfeed and drinks about 10oz a day at daycare, but I'm done pumping, so he won't have much breastmilk this week. What do I give him during the day? Soy milk? Goat's milk? Do need to replace the 10oz of breastmilk with alternative milk? We're still nursing at home, but his sleep is just getting good & I really don't want to reverse cycle!
