I've completely moved into the camp of waiting till around age 3 to potty train. I heard it's easier then and less problems/complications. So my only suggestion is to try again later! Glad to hear she peed in her diaper finally!

@travelgirl1: thankfully she's used her diapers again! watching the peepee dance while she was wearing a diaper was just bizarre....like pee already you've got a diaper on goofball.

 That sounds frustrating for everyone. I would be tempted to take a little break and maybe try again next week? I know it won't be fun getting her back in diapers but I would be worried about the holding in her pee so much.

My only advice is that it takes time. I think.

I'm so frustrated with potty training. DD was really difficult to potty train. She would go on the potty if we took her every few hours but wouldn't tell us. She finally got the hang of it, then she regressed. Got it. Regressed. Got it. Maybe regressed. I'm so DONE!

I think it's a good step that she peed in her diaper and didn't say anything since it might be good to take a break, use diapers, and just follow her lead completely if she wants to take it off and try the potty.

@NovBaby1112: I'm wondering if she does. She's never complained before and it but she mitt saying it hurts.

I've put her back in her diaper and she since gone pee once and not said anything about it.

@tinyperson: This whole potty training thing is no fun.

@Chuckles: I took her diaper off after she wasn't using it thinking she wanted the potty so she wasn't wearing a diaper and started peeing on the floor and ran wee wee wee to the bathroom. So she gets that part.

Sorry, I wasn't clear about that bit.

Even if she doesn't have a UTI now, I would worry about all the holding causing one. When you said that in the afternoon she started peeing in her diaper but finished on the potty, what happened that she ended up on the potty instead of just peeing in her diaper?

aww poor thing...do you think she could have a UTI or something that is making it uncomfortable for her to go?

I have no advice but wanted to commiserate! S has very little interest in the potty right now so we're taking a break.

We've been casually potty training. DD shows a lot of readiness. Always tells me when she goes, asks for a change after wetting her diaper, curiosity when I use the bathroom, etc.

Until yesterday, she'd go on the potty if we timed things right. Now she's holding her bladder until she's clearly uncomfortable. She's refusing to use the potty, that's fine, but also refusing to go in her diaper. She had a wet diaper at wakeup, went pant/diaper free all morning, refused to sit on the potty and finally sprung a leak at one. I figured she'd let the rest go during her nap, but she woke up dry. I kept her in a diaper for the afternoon thinking she'd relax a little more. She sprung a leak again around four but finished on the potty. She was dry until bedtime and then overnight had a much smaller diaper than I expected. Repeat this morning.

Finally I ran a bath because I could tell she didn't feel good. No potty, no diaper! In the tub she goes and starts peeing. And crying "No pee!" "Gross!"

Did your toddler have an aversion to using the bathroom like this? I don't want to continue potty training right now if it's going to cause anxiety for her. But I don't know how to go back to diapers because she's resisting those too.

Help!

P.s. sorry for run on sentences about pee.
