i felt letdowns when I was engorged. Never when pumping. If i pumped long enough, I would have 2 letdowns and a seriously huge pump session.

@CakeLady: Some women never feel it. Totally normal. Your hormones are going to react differently when your sweet baby is latched vs. a machine. I get several letdowns while nursing, but only 1 during pumping sessions.

I never felt a letdown for the first 4 months or so, regardless of whether I nursed or pumped. I have only recently started noticing them. LO is 6 months.

@autumnlove: Thanks! I figured it was NBD since I'm still makin' the milk.

I have never felt a letdown for nursing or pumping. I only noticed more milk coming out or my baby gulping faster. My pumping supply was very good without feeling letdowns.

Mostly just curious about this... When I nurse LO I definitely feel the letdown after a minute or so, but when I pump I never feel it even though there is milk flowing. Is this pretty normal? Is pumping more efficient if you do feel letdown?
