i think you are doing great! our LO had a similar night sleep schedule as you mentioned above at around 6-8 weeks. He gradually went to bed earlier and earlier until now at 5 months he goes down at 7pm - 7am. for a long time he was going down at 10pm, then 9, then 8, etc! :)

Um, I would be thanking my lucky stars that I had such a good baby, and worry about "training" later, if it's even necessary. If she's happy and healthy, then I think you can just leave things how they are for now.
Honestly, I think we all get a little too wrapped up in needing to adhere to all these notions about schedules and training and forcing our LO's into doing things. Yes, schedules can be good, but if there isn't a need for one (ie, your LO is happy and not getting overly tired before bedtime) then I would leave it alone if it's working for you and your schedule.

Wow! She's doing awesome!!! I really wouldn't worry about sleep training until you absolutely have to. Many babies are naturally great sleeper that don't need any sleep training whatsoever!

I also think that you will know when your LO needs an earlier bedtime. I would say that 8 hours of sleep overnight is not enough for a baby though. Ideally you'd want 11-12 hours.

My LO slept like that very early on, too. But for the past month (she's 5.5mos) she's been waking up for a feeding. I think she'll grow out of it soon. And she naturally moved up her bedtime from 10:30ish to around 7:30. They change so much in so many ways those first 6 months or so, I wouldn't worry too much about what you'll do in the next few months. Just take it as it comes.

Yep! My LO started doing it from a very early age too. It lasted until she hit her 3 month growth spurt and then she was back to 1 night feeding. She started doing it again at 6 months old.

Once she gets older, she will most likely sleep longer without needing to wake up to eat. DD started the 10pm-7am sleep schedule at 7 weeks and by 11/12 weeks we started putting her to sleep at 9, then 8, and now 7 (by 14/15 weeks). She did start waking up at 6:30am but that's not a huge deal to me.

Yay for a sleepy baby!!

My DD did the same thing around the same age. She slept from 9:30-9:00am STRAIGHT. At first I thought it was a fluke but he kept doing it! Then maybe after a week, she started getting up at around 4am for a feeding. She's been getting up at 4am since then. So her schedule is now 9:30p-4:00am, then feed at 4am, then back down from 4:30am-9:00am.

Baby's schedules change all the time! Just when you think they have a consistent schedule, it'll change. So I wouldn't worry about it just yet. Your LO's schedule will probably be different by the time you have to do any kind of sleep training or prepare for daycare!

My DD is 6 weeks old. Ever since her 3rd night, she has been a great sleeper at night. Her usual schedule is to eat for the last time around 10:30pm, sleep til 4:30 or 5am when she wakes up to eat, and then sleep again until around 8:30am. At first I thought it was just a lucky night, but it kept happening and the doctor was not concerned about her weight and said to let her sleep!

However, she has now started sleeping completely through the night - falling asleep before 11pm, and waking around 7:30am. Although I love the sleep, I'm worried that sleep training her will be an issue in the future. Her wakeful time is usually from 6pm-11pm, and I know most people say their LOs go to bed between 7-8pm. Does this mean we will have to re-introduce a feeding in the middle of the night? Or when we sleep train, can she just go to bed around 10 and wake up around 6, which is what our schedule will be once she is in daycare? Any thoughts?
