Just wanted to wish you luck...I don't have much advice because I weaned LO. but also, good luck with daycare! When LO started daycare, I sat in my car and sobbed.

I wouldn't wean, & tbh I don't think you need to stop nursing before naps when YOU have her.

What I would do is start having Dad take over putting her to sleep when he's home (naps & bedtime). He'll have the best success at calming her without boob while her still feeling secure.

I know for us, if its me I almost can't get away with not nursing BUT if DH goes in she calms pretty easily (took a few times but works now).

Have you tried letting someone else feed her? It is really tough for me to get my LO to take a bottle from me, but she will from my DH or the nanny.

@FancyGem: I tried putting it in her straw cup and she looked at me with disgust. :P Cow's milk was not received any better either. Hahaha. I thought she would like the bottle since she would crawl over to it, but she only likes chewing on the nipple! I just need to get her used to going down for naps without nursing...and i figure daycare can figure out how to get her to drink formula!

:( my baby doesn't like bottles. He is 12 months now and drinks out of cups, but refuses cow's milk. Maybe try introducing her to a sippy cup and when they put the formula in it at daycare she will take it.

@FancyGem: I haven't pumped in 6 months when she started refusing the bottle (even with pumped milk). I was never able to pump enough (it would take me two days to pump out 4 oz) and i have a feeling at this point i'd be pumping much less.

Could you pump milk so that she has a bottle before her nap at daycare?

My biggest regret is getting into the habit of nursing before naps. In the beginning i did it because she would nap longer being so full, and then i did it so that i can go out as soon as i put her down for a nap and not worry about nursing her.

Well, LO is 10.5 months and she is starting daycare next week (part-time for a month). I tried giving her formula and she just screamed and screamed. Arghh, after about 40 minutes (calming her down, then reading to her, etc.) i finally put her down for a nap. She cried hard for a bit but is sleeping now (whimpering while falling asleep).

I don't want to wean because it breaks my heart when she cries!! Did anyone else go through a rough transition?
