Just wanted to update this thread:
We also asked the concierge at at the hotel and he told us the three most popular things for kids are 1) the cool zoo (like a water park in the zoo), 2) the aquarium, and 3) story land. Since we had recently been to the aquarium and zoo in our hometown (and they are $$$) we decided on Storyland. LO absolutely loved it! It was story book characters/structures in the city park. The afternoon we spent in the French Quarter just wandering, having beignets, watching street performances etc. All in all a great day!

I just took my toddler (21 months) to Nola for a week while my husband was there on business! I'd be happy to tell you all about it over email or something. We stayed in the French Quarter, a block off Bourbon street which was lol, honestly, but we found plenty of fun stuff to do. We spent a ton of time just walking around and exploring the French Quarter, which we all really enjoyed. The little ferry that goes across the Mississippi was a hit. All of the normal restaurants were friendly enough for children, although I did not see a ton of other ones. The insectarium is hilarious, not really worth the money, though. The music was wonderful to walk around in. We had a wonderful time - you'll just love it.

Definitely the aquarium, and Jackson square has a ton of great street artists that would be fun to look at. There's a giant mall on the riverfront if you want to get out of the heat. Oh and there is a park and zoo in the Garden District that you can take the trolley too. Definitely hit up Cafe du Monde, it'll be insanely messy and you'll have to burn off the sugar rush, but I think that would be a hoot with kids :)

I remember there's a great aquarium by the French Quarter. Your toddler would probably love that!

We are going on a road trip with our baby, four months, and our toddler, age 2. We will be stopping in New Orleans for two nights and one day. I know we are a little crazy for doing this but it is what it is. So has anyone been to NOLA with the kiddos? What would you suggest we do during our visit? Places to eat? Anything else i should know? Thanks!
