We are wary of pressure mounted things because our gate ripped the paint off the walls in our condo. We had to repaint two entire walls because of it. We have a wide doorway to the living (like the size of French doors but it doesn't have actual doors on it). It would be so helpful to be able to contain my almost one year old in there but dh doesn't want to drill in the doorway for such a short term need. We just put a tension mounted gate at the bottom of the stairs at least but she climbs up to the first step where it's mounted and I'm nervous she will fall back onto the slate tile. </p>
