I read a lot of nonfiction - anything by Jon Krakauer is good, especially Into Thin Air if you like survival stories. Some other ones I've liked: 127 Hours by Aron Ralston, The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson, In the Kingdom of Ice by Hampton Sides, Columbine by Dave Cullen, Modern Romance by Aziz Ansari, War by Sebastian Junger.

Some recent non-fiction favorites:

War of the Whales by Joshua Horowitz--investigating mass beachings of whales caused by secret US Navy sonar testing.

Dead Mountain by Donnie Eichar--investigates the Dyatlov Pass Incident in the Ural mountains when a group of young hikers were found frozen to death in various states of undress--lots of conspiracy theories!

32 Yolks by Eric Ripert--a memoir of food and the tough youth of Eric Ripert that led him to be the great chef he is today.

I just read Krakatoa: The Day the World Exploded while we were on vacation since we were in the area (someone left the book at the hotel). It was actually a fascinating look at the history of that period of time in Indonesia and the economic, political and environmental impact the volcano had.

I don't read a whole lot of nonfiction, I typically tend to lean towards young adult books. Lately though, I've been in the mood to read some nonfiction!

I checked out 438 Days by Jonathan Franklin which was recommended by Bee here: http://www.hellobee.com/2016/06/28/what-im-reading/ and also A Mother's Reckoning by Sue Klebold which is a mother's story about the aftermath of the Columbine tragedy. I started 436 Days and it's really interesting so far, I'm a fan of survival stories!

What are some nonfiction books you've read and enjoyed?
