@SproutBee: that is super interesting. I was really stressed when DS got it and wondered how he caught something after a month of us not going anywhere.

@rpparker: That is good need. Hopefully you can have a restful weekend (as much as that can happen with an unwell toddler) and that she is feeling better soon.

I’m Peds. Tons of roseola this pandemic! My 4yo had it too. Turns out roseola is not usually spread from sick contacts but from close contact with asymptomatic adults that probably continually shed virus during their life. All this extra time with stressed out parents probably the culprit. ;)

@ALV91711: She woke up happy and hungry and only with a slight (99) fever! The ped said she has seen a ton of roseola this week and thought she fit that. She obviously can’t promise me it’s not COVID but since no one else in the family has been sick, she said it would be really unusual for the youngest and most sheltered of the family to be the only sick one. She advised we hunker down (more than we already were) for the weekend to make sure no one else shows symptoms and she isn’t showing anything new. Whew! I really love our ped and trust her 1000% so I feel so much better. Thank you!

@Aria @ALV91711: So two votes for Roseola! She slept well until 3 and I gave her another dose of Tylenol and she’s still snoozing. If this wasn’t COVID era, I would totally be thinking fever virus.

This happened to us in April after we had been home about a month. DS2 was 19 months and it turned out to be Roseola.

It is hard not to stress but at least you already have an appointment tomorrow. I hope it turns out to be nothing.

Hugs to help you make it through the night.

This just happened to my 16 mo and it turned out to be Roseola. Not a clue where she got it because we’ve been staying at home. After having a pretty high fever for 24hrs we did get a COVID test because we were staying with my parents and we wanted to know if we all needed to quarantine. I hope it turns out to be nothing but it’s so hard not to think the worst.

Talk me out of this panic attack...my heathy 19 month old spiked a fever after dinner. She had a good day but then threw a fit at dinner and when I decided to take her on to bed I noticed she was warm...101/102 with an ear thermometer. We (DH and 5 yo DD) have all been healthy and in semi isolation. DH still has to go into the office some and we have gone on a few hikes with friends. I’ve talked to the nurse line and without other symptoms they said to watch her tonight. We had a scheduled well visit tomorrow so that’s now a sick visit but I know I’ll be up all night checking her. I know that normal sicknesses can still happen but everything feels so heightened right now that I am worried.
