Lots of layers. It could be an Indian summer, so might get a mix of warm and cool weather.

@BabyBoecksMom: Woah! All day?? I turn the heat down at night, but definitely not that low during the day!

I would definitely bring lots of layers then (especially if the house is that cold). And I am with @Bao, very warm pajamas are a must! It is hard to predict what November will be like up here. It might not be that bad, or there might be a foot of snow on the ground! New England weather is so unpredictable!

Yeah definitely layers. It's so hard because one time I went home to Boston for Thanksgiving and it was 70 degrees. That is obviously not the norm but it happens.

PS. 55 INSIDE the house? What the what?

Lots of layers. Short sleeve onesies to go under long sleeved shirts. Pants/jeans, socks, warm shoes, coat, hat, a zip up hoodie to layer with. Warm pajamas!

@mediagirl: I figure we'll be inside for the most part, but we'll want to go and see Boston and go hiking around their house some time.

ETA: Oh, and they like to keep their house around 55 degrees in the winter :-/

I'd pack layers - pants, long or short sleeves, and sweaters or sweatshirts over. It shouldn't be arctic weather yet here at that time, and if you bundle her up too much inside she'll probably get hot. And be careful with the coat, jackets that have too much heft aren't good for car seats.

Will you be outside a lot?

I would think normal clothes (long pants, long sleeve onesie or shirt, sweater, socks and shoes) plus a coat would suffice. A warm hat and mittens, as outerwear. That should be it, though!

cold. lol. sometimes it can be mild, but generally it's cold! Pants, socks, shoes - either sneakers or warm boots or whatever she prefers. It may snow, it may not. Hard to tell! And I typically do layers..long sleeved shirt and pack a sweater or sweatshirt for wherever I'm going, wear a winter jacket. May be cold enough for hat/gloves, may be mild.

NE stinks! lol.

We live in TX, so our Fall/Winter is VERY mild (like, we can still wear t-shirts and shorts through some winters). That being said, we're visiting my brother and SIL in Boston for Thanksgiving (5 days) this year.

What essential clothing items will I need to pack my for my (18 month) LO? (I'm doing this ahead of time in case I can spot a sale)

I figure she'll need a heavy coat, and sweaters. What else will keep her comfortable? Thick socks? Gloves?
