@cvbee: I read that, too. Mine usually last 5-10 minutes. A doctor I work with said if it lasts more than 10 minutes, you have to guaze pack it for 24 hours. So... yuck. I start counting my minutes slower after 9!

I've been having blood in my kleenex when I blow my nose every day. Haven't had a running nose bleed though. I've read that it is normal for pregnancy because the blood vessels are closer to the surface.

UGH! Another really bad one this week while I was commuting. Got most of it in my 1st tri emergency puke bucket (and some on my husband's sweatshirt that I was borrowing).
So much blood, and they keep telling me it;s normal. Nothing is helping and i can't figure out what's triggering it. :(

@tina: Huh. I dunno, I still have slimy boogers. LOL. Gross.
I guess I should get a humidifier. I was out Christmas and Chanukah shopping today and got a nosebleed while carrying clothing in the store! Luckily there was a place to drop them and grab a tissue.
I am willing to try it all at this point. Steam, vaseline, buy a humidifier.... Mostly I get them after lunch, between 1 and 7pm. Once I got one in the middle of the night.
Eww.

I had nosebleed issues when the weather started getting more dry around here, though they weren't nearly as bad as yours. A humidifier will definitely help and so will using a saline rinse.

I haven't had a blood running nose bleed yet, but for a little while, I have been having a fair bit of blood whenever I blow my nose. We keep our house humidity as high as possible without fogging up the windows, but I can't do anything about the humidity at work (I work in a hospital). I have been using saline nose drops/spray at work to keep myself from drying out.

I've always had nosebleed issues since I was young. My recommendation is to always keep a cool mist humidifier going every single night (if the air is warm, it's probably also dry) and keep a tub of vaseline next to your bed and COAT the insides of your nostrils before going to sleep. Not a pleasant feeling, but the idea is to keep the skin inside your nostrils lubricated and moist.

It just occurred to me that maybe they're not being caused by dryness like mine are. But if you feel like the insides of your nostrils are dry (hard boogers rather than moist ones, ew sorry TMI) then it will definitely help to keep the skin inside your nostrils lubricated and the air around you moist. When you wake up in the morning your pillowcase should be damp. All gross, I know ;)

For the last few months, every day when I wake up and blow my nose there's some dried blood. Oh the joys of pregnancy. I've only had a full blown nose bleed once since getting pregnant... but I pretty much never got them before. A humidified in your office probably would help. Central heating just tends to dry out the air, so so extra humidity would help...

@chopsuey119: :( I don't have a humidifier, but it's been fairly warm and my office is well heated and I still get them there. It is getting so gross.
AND I drink so much water!
@Mrs. Bee: Aww. Yeah, it's pretty gross. Like once a week I miss the signs and end up with a handful of blood --running off to the sink. But usually it drips backward, down my throat a minute before it drips out, so I have fair warning.
And... it's usually only on one side, but the side is switching.

My NP said nosebleeds are common, but I am getting really frustrated. I work in a doctor's office and so I have to keep running away and leaving patients waiting so I can re sterilize myself. Annoying! :P

@Rosie Girl: Does the saline spray stop them?

I only had one, and I was shocked because I haven't had a nosebleed since I was a kid!

Wow every day -- that must be a pain to deal with!

Use some saline spray. I have been getting nose bleeds too, but they don't run. I wake up with my nose full of blood, and then I blow and its like chunks of it. Saline spray helps some!

Yikes! I don't think I ever had nose bleeds during pregnancy. Do you have a humidifier in your room? It may be due to dryness?

Anyone else getting nose bleeds?
I'm 18 weeks, and they are getting more common (almost every day now).
I am getting so sick of them because they always run backwards (down my throat) first and so I choke on the blood and then I'm in a coughing fit. I am SO OVER IT.

Anyone else?
Any tips on having less nose bleeds? Or learning to deal with them?
