@mrsjyw: I think for us, swaddling was wonderful but around 3 month so she was definitely over it and wanted her hands back.

@mrsjyw: good for you! You won't have to go through swaddle weaning!
My LO is obsessed with swaddling and I fear the day we have to wean. Luckily for me, he shows no interest in rolling over so I might get to keep swaddling for longer than I expected!

A doesn't like being swaddled either, it makes her mad! But it does make her sleep better so we do it. We're trying to ween her off it but am sooo scared of my precious sleep disappearing!

Agreed! DD wanted to sprawl out and sleeps with arms above head an legs open, our sleep sack has to be big on the bottom for her to be comfortable.

Oh yes, my LO *hated* being swaddled. She would turn brick red and got so angry!!!!! She would be so pissed and would then just spend her time trying to break out of the swaddle.

My LO was never a fan and she always managed to wiggle out to get her arms above her head. I never tried double swaddling or anything like that.
She started STTN when we put her in a sleep sack without the swaddle piece at 8 weeks.

J HATED the swaddle. He would tolerate from armpits down for a while but once he really became aware that the swaddle was still on him, he would kick and thrash until I took it off.
He also hated the Ergo and infant insert because it's kind of like a swaddle.
Frustrating..... especially when you buy all these cute A&A swaddles, miracle blankets and Ergo accessories, hahaha

Agree! H gets PISSED if her arms are in the swaddle! She wakes herself up fighting to get them out so we just swaddle her from armpits down:).

Definitely! It was always a losing fight to get E swaddled...whenever we managed to ignore the screaming (which would start as soon as we did) he's inevitably break out of it. He loves his sleep sack, though! Hope A sleeps well tonight!

So ds didn't like being swaddled very much so we weren't aggressive about it after week 2. We coslept his first month on the couch. He slept on the nb lounger (tsk tsk I know) with me dh or my mom for the first month. At six wks we transitioned him to pnp and crib sleeping and were nazis about swaddling in order to make the transition work. He was doing 6-8 hr stretches until this past wk where it's been 5-6 for his longest first stretch.

Hs great at putting himself to sleep and usually fusses when he akes up from having his arms bound. So tonight when he woke up for his nighttime feeding I put hin down w his arms unswaddled in the halo sleepsack. He's passed out! Wish us luck on this unplanned swaddle weaning.

And just a note to mamas that some babies do sleep.better unswaddled!
