we're still pretty consistent. he's been sick the last couple of weeks (cold #2 reared its head yesterday), so he's gotten up a couple of times and needed some extra snuggles. he has been going longer between his second nap and bedtime and been going to sleep around 730/8...sometimes even later, but usually sleeps til 730/8 or later.

he naps 2, for an hour or so each.

@DillonLion: M was sleeping so good for awhile now, aside from early wakings here and there, but omg the last maybe 5 days or so have been awful! Up at random times screaming, not wanting to be put in her crib at night or for naps, and only 1 short nap a day, ugh!! Is there really a 12 month regression??

@DillonLion: I'm now a firm believer in the 12-month regression! Part of it was combined with a big move last week, but ever since then, nighttime sleep has been hit-or-miss. Last night, DS woke up at 1:15am, which is SUPER UNUSUAL. His twin sister, who is usually the midnight screamer, was unused to the hollering and woke up, as well. OMG...double screaming fit/CIO for 30 minutes, followed by 40 minutes of semi-sleep, followed by another 20 minutes of CIO. We eventually caved and gave them both a bottle/diaper change at 2:40, and then they crashed. Basically, we get one or two good nights followed by catastrophic "Babygedddon" nights.
Hoping this passes...I miss my little 7pm-6am babies!

Not sure if it is because of that or a regression or she is meeting a new milestone or teething. Maybe all lol. Momma sleepy

@lindseykaye: that is AWESOME! so happy you are finally getting some good sleep, and your LO is as well!!!

@DillonLion: oh no! i am so scared of the 9 month sleep regression. we have hit literally every regression possible (4, 6, plus every wonder week) so maybe the sleep gods will take it easy on me for the 9 month one ;)

Sleep has been pretty good for awhile now, but of course that could all change in a day! She goes down around 7, wakes up once to nurse or sometimes STTN and wakes up for the day around 6:30. NEVER thought we would ever get to this point. M is taking 2 naps a day- One around 9:30 and one around 2/2:30.

@SLR: @DillonLion: Reminders for me to appreciate the slumber while we have it and know that life (and teeth and colds and bad days) can interrupt the pattern any time. Hope things get back to normal for you both and your littles.

We have used the Hyland's teething tablets for a long time now each night before bed whenever she is teething more than usual. The really bad days when she is acutally cutting teeth get tylenol but for the usual discomfort these have been great.

@DillonLion: Oh no, poor C and poor mama! I had thought Em's could have been a 9m regression too. Guess there's no way of really knowing what it is though. Have you tried the Hylands teething tablets? We have on a few occasions and they seemed to calm her fairly well. I hear you on the exhaustion though...we keep passing this cold back and forth (I have it for the second time in a month right now) and I've come to think a good part of why is because I'm not getting enough sleep. Sucks!

@lindseykaye: Yay, good girl E!

Still not STTN here! Who know when we'll get there. The past few weeks have brought a cold, ear infection, and some stubborn top teeth that just won't pop through. She had been waking up every 2-3 hours and I was feeding her each time because she wasn't eating much during the day while sick. But we're finally back to one wake up as of this week. Progress, I guess?

Okay - I think we've come far enough not to jinx things ;)
Ellora is officially sleeping through the night. She goes into her crib awake and is asleep within 5 minutes with minimal fussing and no crying. She wakes once between 12-2AM and falls back asleep herself. Then wakes around 4:30 and I go in and feed her during that time. She goes back to sleep herself again and wakes for the day after 6:45.
I feel like I am living an entirely different life! Naps are also 100x better. I just didn't think we would honestly ever get to this point after her having a rough time with sleep for so long.

@highwire: He's not consistent with it yet. I feel like they usually give us the cutest faces and smiles when they want to play rather than sleep. I am no longer a fan of party time at 3am. lol. Yesterday during one nap he was sitting and I had to go back in and make him lay back down. Luckily last night he didn't wake up to play at 3am.

Ugh. After being able to pull up for several weeks during playtime, my LO finally decided to try it out in his crib (already lowered thankfully). Unfortunately, he thought the best time to do that was between 3-4 am this morning. I heard him making noises (not crying, more playful) on the monitor so I turned on the screen to see him standing. I made my husband go in and help him settle back down. I hope this phase passes quickly. What did you all do to deal with it and how long did it last?

@kml636: yeah during LO's teething phases, she would be normal during the day but start getting super fussy in the evenings. so i think teething and being tired makes it more irritable for them. but anyway, if the tablets/tylenol don't work, then you know at least she's not in pain, and that maybe it's just a wonder week or nightmare type thing? hope it ends soon!! i don't know why but waking up in the middle of night now is so much harder on me than it was when she was a newborn. i guess cause i was used to it back then.

@kml636: eek! hmm if she was STTN before I would think it may be teething... could you try giving her some tylenol and see if she is better after? i was gonna say my LO did this out of the blue a couple nights ago and i had no idea what to do! luckily i think she was just dreaming as she went back to sleep after 10 min. 1 hour is a long time tho so it sounds like she might be in some pain or sick or something! if it were me i'd probably try some type of pain relief to eliminate that as the problem.

@kml636: E did that same thing a few weeks ago. I think it was a combo of teething, still being hungry, cold/allergies. He went back to normal sleep pattern the following week. I also noticed he grew an inch during that time frame. So could have been that too.

I seriously need help... For the past four nights, our formerly good sleeper (7 pm - 5:30 am) has been waking at 12 midnight screaming as though she is being skinned alive. It's just so not like her we thought it had to have been teeth, ear infection, cold, night terrors, wonder week... so we put her in bed with us. And I've fed her out of desperation. But I definitely DON'T want to make those things a habit.

I've done some CIO and sleep training with her since she was tiny, but this is different. When she gets so hysterical I just think that can't be good for her.

Just hoping things get better, last night we tried laying with her next to the crib and she screamed for a straight hour before we put her in bed with us and I fed her. HELP.

Question for all... E was taking a nap from 4:30 to 6:30 but the last few days has decided to stay awake and then go down a little 6:00 pm. What would you do??? Let him sleep until he wakes or wake him and do our normal bed-time routine? He use to go down for bed around 8:30 and sleep till 1:00 am for a feeding and back down until 7:30. I'm afraid if I let him sleep from 6:00pm that he will wake up and not sleep to 7:30am but instead to 5:30am.
