dh wanted a BFP like four months ago! LOL... right now, my only goal is to make it to one year of ebf/ds' first year as a "baby" being JUST him.

i also want to enjoy the next pregnancy as much as i did the first. (memory fails me at this pt all the bad parts of it :P)... ideally i'd like to start trying spring of 2014, which i think would make the babes 2 years apart. my younger brother and i are 20 months apart and super close.

i turn 30 next month, dh turns 32 in oct--- we're in the "not so young, not so old" camp when it comes to baby making...

We had originally planned to try when LO turned 2 but last night we were talking about moving that up to when she turns 18 months. We are still unsure if we want 2 or 3 and if we want 3 we should get moving. We both turn 29 this year and want to still be on the young side once our kids are all grown and out of the house.

We've talked about this recently. We really want them to be 2-3 years apart, especially because I had a cesarean and delivery complications (eclampsia). My mom watches LO so the daycare cost isn't too much of a concern, but she's already 62 (looks very young for her age and is very active) and I don't want her to have to juggle two little ones at too much older of an age. Although by the time we have a second my LO will probably be ready for part-time preschool. I just turned 30 and my husband is about to be 34, so we are ok in terms of age, although not that young anymore.

@kml636: My acupuncturist said sometimes pregnancy sorts period issues out and everything is okay afterwards but I'm sensing it won't be for me. I hope acupuncture is as good for me next time, it's not easy on the budget but it was a great treatment

@lindseykaye: Aw A does exactly the same with sleeping. Because my side of the mattress is next to her crib, she will try roll out of the crib to me too, crying and reaching for me and then get her arms or legs stuck in the slats. It kills me. Sometimes I wonder whether we should have done CIO when she was young because it seems doing it now would be more heartbreaking since she's more attached to me. But I can't do it, it's just not in me at the moment. I think I would probably approach sleep differently with #2.

@kml636: I don't have my period back yet but if I did, DH would have wanted to try already. We are both 32 and I have PCOS so time isn't on our side. I've emailed my acupuncturist (how I got preg last time)already about when I need to start up treatment again and we decided when I was 9 months pp so I guess pretty soon. We'll officially be TTC again when A is a year old, as I want to breastfeed until then, but we have PCOS against us so not sure how it will all pan out.

@kml636: nope! ideally we'd want them about 2-3 years apart so we won't officially be trying until maybe march of next year. but... the first time around it seemed like it took alot of effort to get pregnant (temping, fertility monitor, etc) and took us 5 months. so i secretly think i'd love to get pregnant by surprise. haha we're using the pnp method but i really doubt it'd happen on its own. if money wasn't an issue tho i would probably start thinking abt a 2nd now too! daycare is so expensive tho!!

@kml636: We had previously decided that we would space our kids out (due to money mostly). We are also both young (27) so we have time on our side. DH and his sister are 18 months apart and they have an awesome relationship, but I know that it was tough on his parents. My brother and I are 5 years apart and also get along great, so that's more like what I'm aiming for. Just so I can only pay for one kid in daycare at a time!
Though it is tempting to get the 'baby' stuff over with sooner. I think I would be a lot more open to a second child sooner if LO slept better. She is such an awesome baby and my pregnancy and birth were wonderful. I tell people if it weren't for the money and lack of sleep I would have so many babies!!

@kml636: Not really, but I am horrible about taking the mini pill so we had a little scare recently...

We wouldn't be wild about #2 right now because we are finally back into the swing of our aggressive debt payment plan (student loans! arg!) and getting pregnant again would pretty much halt that completely. That's not even talking about having two in daycare at the same time or me becoming a SAHM. Ugh. Yeah, we are not ready :)

ETA: if none of that was an issue, I wouldn't be opposed to it. But we're both young (25 and 27) so we don't feel any clock ticking yet.

Just have to ask, are you ladies thinking of number two? My DH is older so he was wanting them closer together. Like we would start to get off the pill at nine months. But now that my little peanut is here I'm not so sure. I don't want to take away time from her, but I don't want to wait too long. Sigh. If only we could pick the exact month...

@kodybear: Add another to the itty bitty committee ;) Mine never grew during pregnancy and I would say I am a fuller A cup now (maybe a B) when I was a small almost-not-an-A pre-pregnancy. I am seriously going to miss even this modest amount of extra boobage!

@scg00387: Pulling up and climbing over here, too. She is proper crawling as of a couple weeks ago and now she is FAST. Getting lots of little scrapes and bumps - I feel bad for her but she is learning how to sit from standing better and seems to take it all in stride. We're trying to practice not making a big deal out of her little boo-boo's but it's hard.

Sleep has taken a nose-dive just this past week. She wakes as soon as she hits the crib mattress, gets up on all fours and reaches out to pull up in the crib. It is pretty awful and is making me seriously regret not sleep training back at 5 months when we planned (but sleep was fine then, so we didn't!). Now she just stands there at the crib rail yelling "mamamamamamama" in this super sad little voice. It kills me. We are moving in two weeks though and after she gets settled a bit at the new place, we're going to give it a real try this time (though I am not looking forward to it AT ALL I am looking forward to at least her being able to fall asleep on her own even if she doesn't STTN).

@NovBaby1112: ummm you're LUCKY! I would've much rather stuck with the status quo instead of ballooning (and now, sad, saggy balloons). we love being outside and water too.. I am already dreading the cold winter since going outside is my go-to cure for crabbiness!

@scg00387: baby is doing good! she started army crawling this past weekend! i know she wants to crawl on her knees but can't quite figure it out. she's just rocking back and forth. not really liking solids but she'll eat it. i'm trying to get into finger foods. the only ones she likes is mum mum's. she will only eat puffs about half the time i offer. i'm going to start trying to give her some banana soon! still no teeth! i feel like she's been teething for so long. i *think* i see the bottom ones coming in but i've been thinking that for awhile so who really knows!

How else are all the November babies?? We're into the pulling up phase and climbing, I feel so bad - I moved his exersaucer to a different room and forgot it had been protecting the stick vaccum that charges in the corner. Of course he tried to climb on it and pulled it straight over top of him :( Bad babyproofing job. He has otherwise been super happy and napping more consistently, just starting to actually eat solids. I think we're working on the top teeth too!

@kml636: LO is doing good! growing up too fast for sure. she's making alot of new sounds these days. she's not crawling yet but def on the move by rolling and pivoting. and she still doesn't like food much. she'll tolerate it but doesn't seem like she's enjoying it at all. the gagging has decreased at least tho! hah sad

no teeth yet, but i can see the tip more and more. just curious, since i think most of your LO's have teeth already, did it happen overnight or was it gradual?

How are all the babies? Time is flying by... sigh... I feel like she's not a baby anymore in some ways! L is sitting up better, no interest in crawling, her fav food is banana, and STTN is still hit or miss...

So glad you all had lovely Mother's Days! I didn't get to sleep in much but LO won't tolerate not being with me when she knows I'm available so it wasn't hubs' fault. And she really was in a sweet sweet mood all day despite having the sniffles so I didn't really mind.

She also impressed me this weekend by fully mastering sitting up unassisted. She getting so big! I'll post a pic on the pic thread since that's gold.
