I'm glad that my OB was vague about where I was in terms of dilation and effacement when she checked me those last weeks. All she told me was that I had a super soft cervix near the end. I had my last appointment on a Thursday at 39 weeks. He arrived on Monday, two days before my due date.

Enjoy the time you have to read, watch tv, etc. I missed out on it because my boss planned to let me chill out at home (work from home) starting Tuesday until I delivered. Baby arrived early, so no dice on that.

My ob did that to me too. She kept saying "I don't think ill see you at your next apt!" and weeks later lo hadn't come yet. I wasn't bothered so much by the aches and pains of the third trimester as I was of the unknown about when lo would come.

it did help me to feel like I was trying to do something about it though. So like pp said, I would eat certain foods and do other things to try to make lo come.

Of course nothing worked and she came when she wanted.... On her due date. But in the end I was glad she stayed and cooked in there as long as possible.

@chopsuey119: haha, thanks! I definitely lost all hope of having sex again when the midwife told us that she can feel baby girls head. DH is now terrified of being that "close" to hitting her. *eye roll*

Looks like a good time to start reading the game of thrones series ;)

Ugh I was 3cm 75% at 36 weeks. I had my baby a few days shy of 40. Changed my mom and sister's flights and was so stressed out. -.-
I had a healthy and big baby boy so was glad he baked for as long as possible.
I found that baby will come when baby's ready no matter what you do. :) if you wanna try to speed things up you can eat spicy food, walk, bounce on a yoga ball.. Have sex!
Good luck!

Edit: oops read your last paragraph wrong! Haha sleep as much as you can! Go out, eat out, go to the movies, did I mention sleep already?

Watch movies and nap! OMG that sounds like the best holiday ever! ;P. I couldn't because my mom decided to come early. Even though I told her not to. *sigh*

Was told at my last appt (35 weeks 5 days) that I was 1-2 cm and 75-80% effaced and to make sure my bags were packed. One week later and I'm an obsessive labor symptom spotter! My next appt is Thursday at 37 weeks exactly. Before that appt, I was positive I'd go past my due date. Now I feel like I'd be upset to still be preggo @ 40 weeks. I'm being irrational, I know.

Everything is ready, last day @ work was yesterday. Anyone have some great ideas to make the time go by faster in these last few weeks? :)
