LO isn't crawling yet. So close though! I think I'll also just let her explore... and keep a close eye on her. She already does a lot of exploring, but she just rolls and scootches to get where she wants to go.

Ahhhh! So cute! When M started crawling I just let her explore. Didn't necessarily put any extra toys out or anything.

We put a bunch of Livs toys (she is 8months and about a week) at eye level and let her pick and choose what she wants to play with. The first few times, I show her how they should go or how it works, then let her have at it. Like the stacking rings - she isnt stacking them yet, but she likes to play with them. Shes learned how all of her electronic toys work (like, spin the wheel and it makes lights, turn the knob and it makes sound) We also give her access to a cabinet in the kitchen with all the tupperware and some of those silicone spatulas. She loves to smack that into things.

Shes really into stacking rings, anything that plays music, her activity table and anything else she can pull up on (including the couch and occasionally the dog lol) and this fisher price hippopotamus ball popper thing. She likes to throw the ball in there then watch it bounce around (the eat the ball...) She also loves the windows and goes to look when we say "Do you see the birdies?!" Oh, and Hide & Squeak Eggs are still a huge favorite.

Id say let her explore to develop her curiosity, and let her pick and choose her toys. We call her "Hurricane Liv" every morning because she plays with them all.

@Thehistoryofus: Oh yes, Baby Y is obsessed with looking out the window. He sits in front of the screen door, sometimes pressing his face against it ... and sometimes mouthing it (ew).

Oooh I would love to hear about this as well. I also try to let her explore around the house as much as possible. She loves to look out our front window to see the cars go by. She likes her toys she can pull up on but I dont' know what they really teach her.

Well, at 9 mos Baby Y is into anything he can pull up on (Fisher Price music table, B. Zany Zoo) and stuff like stacking rings/cups, his rolling shape sorter, and his Mozart music cube. He is also getting really good at deconstructing his play mat (sigh).

So, LO is 8 months old and is crawling full-force. She's quick and getting into things, which is fine for now. I'm just wondering what I can/should be doing in terms of helping her curiosity/development.

I like to let her explore and even let her bump her head a bit (nothing dangerous) to experience the "world" but what do other moms do?

Any toy suggestions?
