We got a nugget a few months ago and it has provided so much imaginative fun for my kids (4 and 6)--endless hours of play/fort building. My 6yo is really into gymnastics and she uses the main parts as gymnastics pads to teach the 4yo things. So many uses! I like the triangle cushions for back support while reading on the couch. I would say it's totally worth it

@HappyBaker: We recently got a nugget and it is set up against the back of a couch so that the back cushions do not slide off and can provide good support. Essentially half of our living room is a sitting area and the other half is a play area, with the back of the couch/nugget at the dividing line. I personally find the nugget sooooo comfortable. Massive improvement over just sitting on the floor to play with the kids...

Good points, thanks @erinbaderin: @PinkElephant: @JCCovi:! I think we would set it up against the couch if we were movie viewing so there would be more than enough regular spots to sit too. I think I’ll order one and worst case it can be used in one of the kids rooms, but I think once there’s more space in the playroom they’ll all love building and playing with it! Now to just wait impatiently for 6-8 weeks!

We have both and I’d recommend the nugget. We put it in front of the couch which keeps the back pillows in place and it’s pretty comfy, even for the adults.

So...I have an (almost) 9 year old, a 7 year old, and a 4 year old. I recently tossed our bean bags because they could just get into WAY too much trouble with them (as in, throwing them, unzipping and stuffing things in/pulling foam beans out). Also, to be big enough to really burrow down and get back support, you need BiG beanbags, which in my opinion take up too much space. We have a nugget and they adore it, but I agree it isn’t great for back support. It’s nice as a toy you can sit on, but I don’t think I’d purchase one to serve as furniture as it’s primary purpose. We’ve had floor cushions (sometimes purchased in the human section of Homegoods, sometimes from the pet section) that have been super comfy to flop on, but again, don’t really provide back support if you want to sit and lean back. However, if your couch is positioned so that the person sitting on the nugget or floor cushion could lean against the base of the sofa, that might be perfect!

My kids are 5 and 7 and they do use the nugget as a couch for movies, but it isn’t the most comfortable - the seat is good but the back cushions tend to slide off. They use it a ton for other stuff, though, to the extent that it might be worth it - currently it’s laid down over our stairs to turn them into a slide, but they also use it to build barricades for nerf gun or dodgeball fights.

We’re making some changes to our playroom to make it more of a hangout / game space instead of all about toys. We have a couch in there, and are going to add a coffee table to play games on. I’d like to add a little more comfy seating and am torn between a nugget couch and small bean bag chairs. I like that the nugget can be many things, and know my kids would still enjoy building with it even though they’re older, but is it also comfy to sit on? Like would your kids watch a movie on it? Which would you pick for a playroom for an 8 and 6 year old?
