Oh yes it happened twice to us. The first time we were walking down the street swinging her and it happened. We didn't even know it could! We felt so bad and had to go to the hospital. The second time I was just putting a onesie on her and it popped out. My DH watched the YouTube videos and fixed it himself. We are super careful with her now. She is only allowed to walk holding one of our hands. If she is holding both of ours she always tried to swing.

It hasn't happened to us but it happened to a little girl I was babysitting once. I was like 13 and I was letting the kids hold my hands, climb up my legs and do a flip. Suddenly I heard a loud pop and she started screaming. Thankfully it had happened before and her dad was a fire fighter son they just popped it back when they got home. I felt horrible. But they did say that once it happens a first time it's more likely to happen subsequent times.

I think I remember hearing that once it happens it is more likely to happen again. It hasn't happened to us (yet), but I'm happy for the reminder to avoid picking her up that way!

Yes. It happens pretty frequently with my 3yo :(
We went to the Er first time but have been popping it back in ourselves since. It's a bummer because once it happens they are very prone. The docs said by 4/5 it should stop happening.

@sorrycharlie: It happened to both of our kids so many times! After the first ER visit or two, our doctor showed us how to fix it (and we revisited the instructions via YouTube) and life got so much easier!!

It happened in the fall to DD2. We took her to the pediatrician who said it might be broken! So we had to wait for an appointment with a specialist who thought her arm might be broken, too! But as she was moving my daughter's arm about, it popped back in. DD2 has a really high tolerance for pain, though, so she was a real trooper through all of that.

Have you dealt with this yet? Ugh, it's terrible. My daughter had it happen when she was just shy of 2 years old - my husband pulled her out of a pile of cushions by her hands. Luckily it popped back in overnight so we were able to avoid the ped the next morning.

It happened again on Friday. She can easily get on my bed but was goofing off and asked for help. I offered my hand but instead of climbing up she put all her weight and hung instead. She immediately started crying and holding her elbow. Ugh. We went to the ped and they had to pop it back in :(. I took her to target that night to pick a guilt gift.
