@kml636: Oh I LOVE your nursery!!! I remember seeing it posted before (I think a glier thread).

UPDATE: I did go to Home Depot and they were able to do 50% less and 25% less using the Benjamin Moore sample (IDK why the Ace Hardware/BM paint guy couldn't do it). Paint swatches are still wet, but I'm definitely liking both of those options more! Less intense, but still peachy-coral! Will try to post more pics later!

P.S. Thanks for all the "accent wall" suggestions. It's just that the room we have doesn't really lend itself to an accent wall and I kind over OD'd on accent walls 8-9 years ago in one apartment. lol

I also did peachy coral and DH had to paint it twice because the original shade was too dark. So I say go lighter... Here's how mine ended up. We did one darker wall.

I love the middle one but would worry about it being too intense without natural light in the room. Can you get a test sample can and paint a small area?

I like the lefthand one, but love the idea of using the middle as an accent wall! Maybe go two saturation tones down for three walls and use the middle color as an accent so it really pops.

I really love the bright coral, but I'd be worried it'd be way too intense on all 4 walls. Maybe use that as an accent wall, either with one of the lighter corals or a white/cream color on the other 3 walls. We wanted orange in our nursery, but were afraid it would be really ORANGE if we did all 4 walls, so we did 3 walls in a pale greyish-blue, and then an orange accent wall. It looks really great!

love it!!! I say go for the bolder one if you can't find anymore more in the middle. I do think it's bold and bright so maybe sometime toned down just a tad?? maybe?? But I like that it's technically only half the room, the white WILL balance it out, as will any artwork you put up that isn't too bold.

If you're painting all the walls, I'd go for a paler coral. I think it would be so calming and peaceful and you could add bold coral accents throughout the room to punch it up. I also LOVE the look for white walls with one bright coral wall (like the third one down). That's the one I would personally choose. Love that one!

Love the colors! But, I would go with the 2nd darkest color since you said that the room only has one window, and all of your inspiration pictures look like they have lots of light in the room to offset the darkness of the color.

I like the one on the left! I agree that the bright color might be a little too stimulating, especially once your LO gets older. You could do accents with that bolder color, like pillows or curtains.

I LOVE coral!! Our nursery is gender neutral (pale green, a color they use in mental institutions on the walls to calm patients down, hehe) but for LMW's big girl room I'd love to do floral corals and baby blues. Very Marie Antoinette. :)

@blackbird: Yes, I was just reading in a baby magazine last night that reds are too intense for babies to sleep in and I wondered if this was too close. I think I need to somehow get it toned down...

@Minnie_Girl: Yes, this is my fear too. That's why I painted the larger canvases. I am going to go to the store today. Have you had experience telling them to make it a certain % lighter? Because if that were possible, it would be perfect! The Benjamin Moore guy told me that the one on the left was "the next shade down" in % to the one in the middle. Seems like a BIG %!

I've done a lot of painting for the new house lately, so this is my advice:

1. The color always looks like MORE on the wall compared to the little paint chip...more saturated, more bold, more dark, etc.

2. Don't decide on anything until you put some samples on the wall. That way, if it's too bright, you can pick something else or ask the store to mix the color a % lighter, and you're not stuck with a gallon of paint.

So we're finally getting the nursery painted this week and I'm having trouble deciding on the paint color! The room already has white wainscoting on the lower half and I really wanted to do a "peachy-coral" color for the top half of the walls. I don't want it to look just "pink" if you know what I mean?

I've already swatched 6 different paint colors and 5 out of 6 look almost the same (depending on the lighting). The room doesn't get any direct sunlight (1 window), but has a ceiling fan that lights it pretty well at night. Paint swatches are shown at night.

So far, the one that "sticks out" is my favorite, but I fear the color might be TOO INTENSE for the nursery? Rest of the house has soothing, pale colors. The "one-saturation level down" color as told to me by the paint guy is the one on the left. I just wish I could get something in the middle (or just a little less intense).
What do you guys think?

P.S. A few "inspiration pics" to help you get an idea of what I'm going for. I already have the "For Like Ever" poster (from years ago) and zebra rug (to possibly use). The first inspiration room is actually the same paint as I used for center swatch. I guess it just looks a lot darker in my room?
