My first nursery design, I did while we were TTC, it was greige, grey, brown, and charcoal. It was really soothing, a little dark, and a little masculine. It was centered around some crib bedding that I loved, that ended up being discontinued.

I ended up changing to a lighter grey, yellow and white colour scheme, that will cost about 1/3 of the original design, because we will go with cheaper furniture, and a chair that we can re-purpose into our living room later (we actually bought the chair and ottoman this weekend, because it was on sale!). I am waiting on fabric swatches from Etsy, so I can get the bedding custom made.

Since we found out I've wanted specific Winne the Pooh bedding, and a green apple nursery. The bedding was on sale while we were registering, so we bought it off our registry then. We started painting about a week and a half ago, and it's the same green apple I had in mind.

If Cameron was a girl I probably wouldn't have done green though. Maybe a teal, or pink room with butterflies or something.

My room was white and plain until I was in grade 9, so colour was a big deal to me.

Other than we weren't even going to do a nursery to begin with, we still are working through the design process. Initially we were just going to do a crib in our room and leave the rest of the house alone. Now we are converting our office to share with the nursery.

The colors are brown and various shades of blues and greens- much like our wedding colors, which I thought was fitting. On one wall we are going to have framed art from James Hance, Mrs. Lemon mentioned his art in her blog, Winnie the Pooh/Star Wars art mash up. On the other wall I bought a decal from Etsy of two trees growing together and will put framed wedding photos of relatives (from our wedding) on the branches like a family tree.

I'm not really doing a theme, rather than an actual color scheme.
I'm not that much into baby type themes (unless they are unique) so princess, paris, butterflies for girls or planes, boats, animals for boys aren't my thing (though I love seeing what others have done)

Is it funny that I am getting inspired by my nursery (decor) with baby girl shoes?!

Originally I wanted to do a vintage cherry theme, because of these shoes :

I was planning on doing beige, brown, red and mint and go vintage with the decor pieces. Like vintage Fischer price toys and a gumball machine (red) but seeing we have a gray glider it drove me nuts that it wouldn't fit. (yes I'm nuts like that)

So I found and even better (more uncommon) palette and I think it will be fab. Let's just say these shoes are the inspiration for my new "decor"

I decided to skip the nursery and decorate my son's toddler room. Our colors are gray/sage/blue (all muted colors). If I had a daughter, it would definitely be yellow and gray.

Originally I planned to do a pink and black Paris themed nursery if we had a girl and I've now changed it to lavender and gray with no real theme. For a boy we were originally going to do a bug theme, but now we've switched to a wood cabin kind of feel.

We'll see what sticks in a few months I guess.

A few years before actually getting pregnant, I had all sorts of ideas for either an underwater theme or a lady bug theme, now that it's actually here, we're on team green, and we went with a simple yellow and blue with adorable polkadot theme. Once I committed to my design after getting pregnant, I stuck with it, though.

I changed so many times! I have finally picked one I like the best though, and am really happy about it! I was getting upset for a while though because there were so many that I liked! The colors I am going with are tan and white with accents of really light pink. (I am NOT a pink person!)

My LO's nursery is green and pink. I've always liked those colors- they were my wedding colors, lol - so it was an easy decision. I have the walls painted green with all white furniture and pink accents like the curtains and a custom upholstered glider that I totally regret paying a fortune for. It is fun and girly without being too girly. I also kept in mind that we may have #2 and if it's a boy, I can just swap the pink stuff out for something more boy appropriate.

I never changed my mind, I had it planned forever! I did add to it though.

I've always been a pig lover and have tons of pigs, so I knew no matter what we'd go with that. Pink pigs for girl, primary colored pigs for a boy. We had a girl. And since we named her Rose, we added flowers to the mix.

For our next baby (we still have a couple of years) we're going team green, and I'm not allowed to do pigs again so it's going to be a lot harder to figure out a theme. I'll probably be doing a lot more mind changing then.

Really early TTC for me, but we've changed our nursery plans twice already. We have optimal plans, realistic plans (I'm likely to be pregnant when we decorate, so unless we find pregnancy-safe paint, murals won't happen) and "my mom's been making fairy wall-hangings for me for the past 5 years, so I should probably use them in a girl's room" plans.

I don't know about you, but even before I was pregnant I had ideas of possible nurseries if I were to have a girl or a boy.

Originally I wanted Mavrick's nursery to fit for bebe2 (when I originally got the bedding) but now, I like that he has his own and would want bebe2 to have his/her own nursery/ bedding too.

I originally had a great idea for a girls room for the longest time. Until yesterday. Now, I'm completely changing my idea and going a different route.

Did you change your nursery plans along the way? I haven't started yet, so it technically doesn't count… but I don't remember going back and forth with Mavi.

Also, if you want to share your colors, I always love seeing what others are doing.
