This it to keep the cat out while we sleep cause I found her in the crib and about had a heart attack. But I get what you are saying about the windows being open. We use to have our windows open all the time when weather permitted ( we are in FL). But when LO got here the end of Dec, we stopped sleeping with the windows open. I know our area is safe and all but it doesn't feel right to me. So when she was a newborn we had the heat on just to keep the house comfy for her and now we have the air on all the time. His room is right across from ours. Once he was older we cracked his door open (maybe around 6 months old). Our bedroom door is always kept open a crack so the cats can come and go on their own. </p>
