@LindsayInNY: I bought the bravado body silk nursing bras to wear when I'm out and about. Love them, so comfy and worth it and I've gotten so much use out of them I even started wearing them when my bras got too uncomfy with #2!

As for around the house and sleeping, I just bought theses cheapie shelf bras from nordstroms rack. They look like those coobie bras but are like $5 a pop! I would just lift up my shirt or rank and the bra to nurse.

@LindsayInNY: also, when I tried to try on nursing bras at maybe a month postpartum, I started leaking while I was trying them on. Then I was trying to hold a nursing pad in them at the same time and it was just a fail. So that's another reason to wait a little...

I waited longer. Even though my milk was in, I don't think at a week pp my size was stabilized. I started with bravado and tanks, and then got sized at Nordstrom and bought an Anita sized one.

I honestly never bought a size bra... I just have nursing tanks and the nursing shelf bras! Not great in terms of support, but I kept stalling b/c I didn't know how nursing would work out! So now I'm too far along and just gonna wait till I wean.

I bought a few nursing bras on Zulily. I was a little hesitant but I am so glad I found them! The brand is Lamaze Maternity and I bought some of their sleeping bras and also wireless padded racerbacks. Didn't pay over $8.99 for them either! Keep a check and see if you can scoop some up. The padded racerbacks are my favorite. They hold me in and up but are really comfy.

I slept in nursing tanks with nursing pads stuck where I needed them. I also highly recommend Soma nursing bras! Like @lawbee said, they are 2 for $59 and they are so worth it. I had one and I wore it for over a year. I got measured at my local store.

I loved the Gillian O'Malley nursing sleep tanks from Target and have continued to wear them even when not nursing. I have some of the nursing sleep bras as well.

As for nursing bras - the ones I liked the best were Bravada body silk bras. I went to a local shop and got fitted for a nicer one to wear to work. It was an Anita brand which I liked pretty well, but it wasn't as comfortable as the non-underwire ones. http://www.nurturedfamily.com is a good resource if you don't have a shop nearby.

@LindsayInNY: Soma has nursing bras 2 for $59. I haven't tried one (because I didn't know about them at the time), but they're highly rated on the website. I have regular bras from Soma that I love. And if you sign up for their emails they'll send you a coupon for your first order.

My size didn't settle until about two months or so after the birth. I bought a few target ones that came small medium large and used those until I got fitted for a better one at Nordstrom.

For sleeping I got a pack of sleep bras from target, that cross and pull over, but I preferred to sleep in a nursing tank (also from target- sheesh). I actually and still sleeping in a target nursing tank even though we weaned in April and I'm 16 weeks pregnant.

The Gillian O'Malley sleep bras at target are FABULOUS to sleep in! Toss in a nursing pad and you're good to go!

No clue on the nursing bra though - I hate regular (nursing) bras when I'm BFing - they get in the way!

I wore the bravado silk nursing bras. I ordered the two sizes I could possibly be from Amazon and returned the one in smaller size. Tried it out for a week and when I loved it I ordered 2 or 3 more.
You definitely need a few because of leakage, you'll be washing them more often and they hang dry.
I was a 34DDD postpartum and the Large worked well. Good support but no wire and super comfy. I actually was sad when I didn't need them anymore! I wore them a long time even after I dried up until they were just too big.

@LindsayInNY: I just got one from Target that was a decent price. I didn't love it, but I knew it would be short term. After the initial shock of the big boobs,, they got smaller after the first month or so. I mostly stuck with nursing tanks. I also had to wear nursing pads the entire time I nursed since I constantly leaked. So at night I usually wore a nursing tank with pads on both sides.

I've been wearing nursing tanks since we got home because I didn't know what bra size I would need. I think my milk is just about fully in so I need to start thinking of a bra. I'm not huge in the chest and hate the idea of paying $50+ for a bra. Where do I begin? How do I know what size I am? Any good but reasonably priced/inexpensive places for them? And while I'm asking, what do I sleep in now that the mild leaking has begun.
