I got mine probably a week before I was due. Every time I went to go get them (like, I was mid-30s weeks preggo), I kept getting warned that my boobs will grow massively and that I should wait a little longer. Finally, a week before I was due, I bought some.

I don't know how you would only buy them after....what on earth would you wear for the first 10 days?!

I got mine in third trimester and the person who fitted me just made sure that there was plenty of room in them. They are designed to be a bit more forgiving than normal bras.

And by the way, I go through way more nursing bras than normal bras because they get wet from the milk. I am washing one almost every day and am glad I have 3.

@emahlee: I wouldn't recommend doing it until after you give birth. I bought a couple of nursing sports bras a few weeks ago, and they already don't fit at 39 weeks lol :P. They were loose when I bought them!

I'm 3 weeks away, and went to Destination Maternity yesterday to get measured, and the girl looked at me like I had 4 heads. She said I should come back in a week or so. They were having a buy 3 get 1 free nursing bra event that ended yesterday so I just guessed and bought bras but will exchange them for the correct size after I deliver. In the meantime, I bought one nursing tank.
I agree that after the 38th week is cutting it close!

I bought one from Target that is a size larger than my pregnancy size based on recommendations from friends. Then I'll get something nicer once BFing is established and things get normal in that area.

6 days post partum. I didn't want to spend money on something that might or might not fit.

When should I get measured for nursing bras? The advice I've been given varies between 36th week to 39th. Getting fitted anytime after the 38th week seems to be cutting it close. When were you fitted?
