@kentuckygirl: I think it's because you need something for the step to hold on to, if that makes sense, so you need the shelf bra there? I have one tank where the shelf bra is so useless I want to cut it out, so I can wear a regular nursing bra, but I don't think it would work.

BUT I forgot, there are Bun Maternity nursing tanks- no shelf bra, but the top is two layers so you unsnap one down and pull the other up. Great for discreet nursing in public. It has actual snaps on the shoulder rather than a hook. They are on baby steals from time to time.

Thank you all! I will probably try both options mentioned. It sounds like a tank with clips but no bra does not exist except for Undercover Mama, so I can stop searching!

@Cole: of course you can – what are friends for  I got the full bust in a medium. I'm out and about, so I can't check the size chart, but for your reference, I wore a 34H/I while nursing and around a size 6/8 and 32F before LO. My one complaint about them was that I felt like you could sort of see breast pads through the material, so if you we leak a lot, I would keep them to around the house or as a layering piece.

I never found a solution that worked, but was very happy with my favorite nursing bra and a stretchy regular cami to pull down over it. I randomly had some from the Ann Taylor outlet that I wore all the time - I liked that they weren't too long, too tight, etc. I think it's pretty hard to solve both problems in one garment. also I preferred no clips, pull down was easier for me.

@rattles: Do you mind my asking if you bought the one for fill bust our the regular one, and how did the sizing work? I am usually a medium in tops but going by their size chart it puts me in an XL (I think...) and I worry it will fit awkwardly. I love the idea of a tank with a built in bra but I just laugh when I look at the ones I have seen in stores because they are waaay to small.

They have a built in bra, but I suggest trying Glamourmom. I wore a h/i while nursing, and they were the only ones that worked for me. Otherwise, I wore cheapy, stretchy camis that I could just pull down.

No clips but the old navy "Tami" tank pulls down from the neck easily and doesn't stretch out much at all even after many months of doing this. Someone posted a DIY version of the undercover mama tanks too.

I have some from undercover mama. They basically hook onto your nursing bra (they don't have straps of their own).

I have been looking for tank tops with clips for easy breastfeeding that do not include a shelf bra/bra cups. Does anyone have recommendations? I am large chested and so a shelf bra/included bra is not supportive enough by itself, but I want some tanks to wear under my t-shirts. I purchased a Bravado but don't care for the sweetheart style neckline. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!
