if she was going down awake, i would definitely go back to that! it has such a big impact on sleep for olive whether she goes into the crib awake or asleep. she can sleep up to 11 hours straight if she goes in awake. or she can wake up every 3-4 hours if she goes in asleep.

oddly that only applies at night. she's a champion napper no matter if she goes in her crib awake or asleep!

@Mrs. Bee: she's 6.5 months old. Man, the last two nights have been rough! I'm going to try going the old way tomorrow because i think it's starting to affect putting her down for naps. I just like this way because she would nurse so much longer undistracted!

In the past, i would nurse LO in my room after getting her ready for bed. Then i would bring her to her room, sing and rock her and then put her to sleep awake.

Last week, i started nursing her in room in the dark because i found that she was less distracted and would get sleepy quickly. In fact, i continued this for a couple of days because she would be out like a light by the time i put her down in the crib. Sometimes she'd open her eyes but would go back to sleep.

Ugh, the last couple of nights it has completely backfired! I'd nurse her, she'd *almost* fall asleep and as soon as i put her down in the crib she's wide awake and starts bawling!! Today she cried for about 45 minutes. Ughhhhh!

Did i start a bad habit? Can this be reversed?
