I used disposables at first because I leaked a lot, but I hated them -- they made me itch! When I first switched to reusables, I still leaked through at letdown but I actually kept a stack of washcloths near where I usually nursed LO and just stuffed one of them in. Bamboobies overnights were usually okay at night, though I did occasionally leak through...I just dealt with it. But overall, I liked the Bamboobies during the day after my supply regulated and I was so much happier when I stopped using the disposable ones.

Reusables have never worked for me...even though I'm 7 months in and only nursing 3 times a day and my supply is totally regulated, I still leak every time I use a cloth pad. Just like my son leaks every time we cloth diaper. It must be genetic, we just aren't meant to be environmentally friendly! :meh:

@sorrycharlie: so I was a heavy wetter too. I waited until I was a bit more under control before switching to these. And I found them to be similar to the disposables, but a big difference is that since it's cotton it breathes and doesn't get cold either.

@mrs. wagon: hmm. I like the idea of them staying in place..

my only concern is that um, I'm a heavy wetter? lmao. so I go through a LOT. and if they're similar to cloth diapers vs disposable diapers, cloth holds less.. am I going to have to change them like every 30 minutes?

Ok, I NEVER thought I'd use reusable ones, but after buying probably like 10 jumbo packs of the disposable ones I was like, enough is enough. So finally I did a TON TON TON of research through amazon reviews and ended up with these:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00474E17I/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I really liked them. They're pretty thick but I didn't have a problem with them showing through my bra. Because the outside is lace, they kinda stuck to the inside of my bra because of the friction. I never had a problem with them sticking to my skin. I changed them daily and threw them in with the kids' laundry. I liked them so much, I was kinda sad to throw them out when I was done, but I couldn't sell or even give away used nursing pads... lol

I used TL Care Organic Cotton Nursing Pads last time. I did leak through them a few times, but since I SAH it isn't a big deal to just change most of the time. They are super comfortable and my bras were thick enough that you couldn't see them through shirts. I would wear disposable if I knew I would be away from the house for a while, though.

I used little lambs bamboo reusables and thought they were great. They were just a flat circle but they stayed in place for me, they were quite textured which I think helped. I never had any probs with leakage, but I don't think I leaked that heavily.

I like the medela reusable ones, but I wasn't able to start using them until my supply regulated and I was leaking a lot less (5ish months for me). I used disposable until then, but it's been nice to move away from that because I went through a lot of them.

And for me, I prefer the flat-ish circles. Even the disposable pads that are crimped to be more cone-shaped I find too frustrating and difficult.

@edelweiss: sounds like the avent ones I had bought (I think...). just a circle! it was super obvious through my shirt, moved and then I leaked everywhere, and even when it stayed put I leaked *through* it after one letdown. :( I got thrush and tossed them, lol. but I swear, nothing absorbed like the disposables did..and I had to wear those for almost 8 months! GAH. just hoping for a cheaper alternative but I'd rather not ruin all my shirts again, lol!

sorry not much advice, but just wanted to share my experience with fuzzibunz reusable--would not recommend. too thick and bulky, and it's just a flat circle. no crimping for the shape of a boob. i wore it only when i was wearing heavy sweaters/shirts, because otherwise they were super noticeable.

No advice on reusables - I hated them - they also stuck to my nipple and it hurt like hell pulling them off! I went back to disposables!

I wore disposable pads when nursing my first - the reusable stuck to me and killed!!

anyway, I've been wearing a pair of bamboobies I got for shipping, and I can't stand them. yeah, they're soft, but they do not stay in place.

are there any reusables that do? I don't want to spend a small fortune on disposables again, but they at least stick to your bra!
