BUT if she wakes in the night and can't settle herself back to sleep, nursing is the ONLY thing that works. I've tried multiple times to send DH in and she just ends up shrieking "Mommy! Milk! MOMMY! MILK!" until I nurse her. I can't bring myself to let her scream so I always give in. Then not only is DS up, but DH and I are up too! In her case, she was dropping day feeds but not compensating with extra calories from solids so she was genuinely hungry. She would still snuggle her, but it was less enticing to wake up if nursing wasn't involved. Her twin brother sometimes wakes up once to nurse, but sometimes sleeps through the night. I don't know how to get them to stop! The other night we tried sending DH in to rock her when she woke up, but she screamed for half an hour (in his arms) before passing out. She occasionally would wake up and if I went in for the first few months, she would still want to nurse, but if DH went in she would be ok snuggling. </p> <p>She's been weaned for a few months now and unfortunately, has been waking up more during the night than she did at a year. Dad just went in when she woke up at night. It was awesome once he did but by then I had a newborn! I'm ready for a full night of sleep each night! She doesn't need to nurse back down but 50% of the time of I go in she will. DH did all night wakings for a week to try and night wean her but it made no difference lol. I'm just hoping I get pregnant quickly with #2 when we start trying next month and that will force her off! My almost 17 month old still does and I don't want to nurse at night anymore. I've been nursing her to sleep, then moving her to crib from our bed when I go to bed, but she still wakes up and then ends up back in bed with us! </p> <p>I can't wait to move her to her room with her brother! </p>
