@simplyfelicity: @Corduroy: @petitenoisette: DH swears he sees the top two teeth coming in. She had diahreha for the first time ever, and now was just crying while taking the bottle. I tried the dark room, with just us, but it only works in middle of the night. This is too much for my momma heart to take 😢😪

Any chance she is sick? We dealt with a brief nursing strike when she had a cold and couldn't breath through her nose when nursing. Same as you I could get her to nurse in the MOTN when she was basically asleep but that was it.

I just waited it out (while pumping and giving bottles) and after a couple days she was back to nursing normally. In the meantime I offered to nurse but didn't push it too hard (after I realized what was going on and got over feeling so rejected!). I think they can definitely sense if you're stressed about it and if they're already not wanting to nurse for whatever reason they're even less likely to want to if they sense your tension.

I totally understand feeling rejected, I was actually so surprised how upset it made me. But I'm sure she'll come around after a few days.

@dc yoga bee: my 8 month old is not into nursing at the moment either. He got off track with RSV and now that he's feeling much better he still won't nurse well. Just snacks for him.

Have you tired a dim quiet room to reduce distractions? I think those are part of our problem now.

Today is day 3 of LO refusing to nurse. She's 8.5 months, just now starting to take to solids (maybe a carrot here and there,) and all the sudden Thursday she stopped nursing! She screams bloody murder, and there's nothing different about my soap or diet. She's teething, but takes the bottle just fine. She nursed at night when she's sleep, but not when awake or drowsy. I keep offering the breast, and trying to remain calm. Any tips?!? Are we done nursing :( I just feel so rejected. I'm pumping to maintain my supply.
