My DD is almost 6 months and getting two teeth. For the last few weeks she is constantly doing stuff like that. She's EBF so I just let her have a break and redirect her back on. She feeds way better at night and I think she's eating more at night because she's so distracted during the day. I'm hoping solids will help a bit

@macintosh: I get a little supply dip around ovulation...I'm guessing that is it? Keep at it!

It happens! DD def had a nursing strike around that time, I think earlier b/c I had gone back to work and she finally got used to the bottle. I just kept offering, and pumped when she refused and eventually she took back the boob!

@FaithFertility: good point! A few days ago I was cramping and I was sure AF was on the way but it never showed up. Could have been ovulation, maybe? Also, last week when pumping I had an obvious supply dip.

It can be so many things hang in there!
@macintosh: Have you got AF back yet? When I did I could tell my supply was lower and DD was not a fan!

I'm so sorry. It's really frustrating. The best thing I would say is do what you're doing. Also maybe spend some skin to skin time without nursing (maybe in the carrier without a shirt on).

My DS is 5.5 months old and he nurses and gets supplements. He's been a fantastic and enthusiastic nurser since he was about a month old. I nurse before every bottle, about 5 times a day and 2 times at night he nurses back to sleep.

The past few days he's been suuuuper fussy at the breast. He may latch only briefly, then he pulls off and cries and arches away when I try to relatch. At this point I give up and we give him a bottle, which he happily takes.

I can't think of anything that is different lately, except he has been extra hungry at night and taking a bottle in the middle of the night, when he normally does not. He did seem to have some teething discomfort a few days ago, but that has subsided.

Has this happened to anyone else? He does really well still in the middle of the night when he's sleepy, so maybe he's just distracted. I'm feeling a little achy, but that's probably because he's not emptying the breast (and there isn't much to empty). Manual pump, here I come :bummed:
