I did it in the beginning. It was either that or she doesn't nap. Then I nap trained when she was of age for it.

I have been doing this on the weekends. It's really the only way I can get LO to sleep when we're home. She goes down for a nap like a champ at daycare, but with us she has a hard time staying to sleep. Nursing her is the only way we can get her to sleep, and even then it's usually not for a very long stretch of time.

It's just so much easier! Not sure how to break this habit, when she's on a nap strike and this is the only solution. We may be entering the CIO stage soon.....

They say it is bad because it isn't necessarily training your baby to nap on her own. What if you are not there? Is your baby going to nap without you feeding her? That's why they say not to do it but as pp said - lots of people do it!

My LO is 1 and still nurses to nap too. She can fall asleep on her own, but nursing her to nap/sleep makes it easier on me!

Liv nurses to nap still at 8 months old, but she doesnt NEED it to fall asleep. She naps for the nanny just fine, and most times with me she can sleep without it. But sometimes its just easier when shes exhausted and fussy to nurse her as it konks her out immediately

I'm fighting that battle right now w/ my 2.5 month old. I'm trying to break it because she's going into daycare in about a week so I don't want her dependent on it to fall asleep if it's not going to be an option later on.

I did it and nap trained at 5 months after he was sleep trained (could fall asleep on his own for bedtime and didn't need me all night). nap training was tough (I guess breaking that bad habit of needing a nursing or rocking session) but totally doable.

Sometimes the only way I can get my 3 month old down for a nap is to nurse her to sleep. Strangely enough, she's fine going down at night, but her daytime naps are almost non-existent.

I'm greatful she sleeps 8-10 hrs at night, but can tell that she is still plenty tired in the afternoon. So, is nursing to nap a bad thing? I've heard that it's a bad habit to form, but not really sure why.
