@Mrs. Sketchbook: I got this one:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004XK4N9C/ref=oh_details_o03_s03_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Love it! It blends all the kale, apples, etc. in my green smoothies so well. No more leafy green chunks!

ETA: This describes the issue I had with my Nutribullet. Seems like the newer blades have been fixed.

I just got the nutribullet for xmas and so far I love it. it is much more powerful and effective than the magic bullet was and as compared to a juicer or blender its so easy to clean. I use it for shakes and smoothies pretty much daily. since being pregnant eating veggies has not been something my stomach enjoys so I have been getting them in this way. So yes, I recommend!

@Mrs. Sketchbook: I had a nutribullet (lost the base in our move...ugh!) and never had any rust issues. I would make huge batches at once of both smoothies and baby food on either Saturday or Sunday and freeze them. I would rinse the parts well then put them through the dishwasher. I had it over a year with no rust issues, if that helps :) I will be purchasing a new one this month because after 4 months of searching, I've given up and really miss my smoothies!

I have had both, and I definitely recommend the Ninja. My Nutribullet didn't purée as smoothly, and it started leaking a rusty metal of some sort into the baby food I was making. I can't remember what it was exactly, but other reviewers had the same problem.

@Cchoi4: I really only want this for smoothies, although I do occasionally puree soups. Would love a blendtec or a VM but it is so not in the budget....for like, years! I used to have a MB I loved but it got mold in the workings (we lived in a very soggy house). I am debating between the NB and the Ninja Pro, both are 99 bucks but the NB actually has much better reviews on Amazon. Would be smaller/less messy, but the downside is it is a pain to do soups in a MB (I used to do it, but I got to where I used a hand blender and that is just so much easier).

I got one because I wanted to make green smoothies without the commitment of having to make them everyday to justify cost. I really do like mine. For $99 (cheaper if you use a BBB coupon), its better than the Magic Bullet and much less expensive than a Vitamix! My sister says Vitamix will change your life, but if you are just starting out and only want to make simple things like smoothies and baby food, grind coffee, etc, then its a pretty good tool. If you are hardcore smoothie maker and beyond, maybe a Vitamix or Ninja is better suited for those needs.
