Honestly, my care so far has been spectacularly good so I'm hoping this carries through till the end. I saw her a few times. My coworkers said the same things about her too. Greening is the exact opposite! Too bad she isn't taking new patients. I got really lucky getting on her schedule because I knew someone. She's very popular! Good luck finding someone. If you decide to deliver at NYU, also check out Spring OBGYN... (Google them, I think that's their website name too). Most of the docs are still there from when I was a patient there with my first baby. Bonnie Yim was my midwife and Dr. Maldonado was one of my fave docs and was on-call when I delivered. She is affiliated with St. Luke's. The L&amp;D unit was fantastic at St. Luke's but I wasn't too keen on the post-partum recovery folks. It was hit or miss. When I visit her, it's like chatting with an old friend. She has a lovely bedside manner compared to most docs (I'm a nurse so I'm picky with my health care providers!). I know one other person who goes to her and loves her as well. The only thing is though, that she doesn't deliver babies anymore. She stopped being on-call to spend more time with her kids at home. I knew this when I got pregnant, but decided to still stick with seeing her throughout my pregnancy. At around 32 weeks, I visited with the other docs in the practice (including docs at two other offices on the UES). It was a bit tricky meeting all the other docs (some were on vacation, some had fully booked schedules, etc...), but being that this was #2 for me and since I'm a nurse myself, I was really lax about everything. I don't know if I'd recommend the same situation for a first-time mom, honestly. But I do have to say that I really trust Cornell doctors in regards to their competency and care. </p> <p>I delivered at Weill Cornell and do feel it is one of the better hospitals in NYC to deliver at. I've seen her once before for a regular GYN appointment, and she was fine for that. But now that I'm pregnant, I guess I want someone who's a little warmer. She just seems very chill, very hands off. For instance, she doesn't even take prenatal vitamins (she has 2 kids, currently pregnant with her 3rd and she only takes folic acid in the first tri). She didn't ask us if we had any questions; luckily, we had a list so I made sure to ask some important ones. She didn't go over anything that I should/shouldn't be doing...maybe she figures that I'll do all that research on my own? I dunno. Anyway, I'd like to meet with another person to see if there really is a difference, or if I"m just being overly sensitive. </p> <p>SO if you love your OB, tell me who he/she is! I'd ideally like someone affiliated with Mt Sinai, Lenox Hill, Weill Cornell, or St, Luke's. Thanks ladies :) </p>
