I have to say though, since having kids I really have cut down on the cabs in the city because you never know what kind of driver you are going to get! for the 1st trips home, we never lived too far or in traffic-laden areas though so we felt a cab ride home would be okay. We do have alternate plans in mind (even venturing on the subway if absolutely needed) as I am due January 22nd and we are nervous about the weather. We live in mid-town and will be traveling to Union Square area for the hospital. The hospital (Beth Israel) doesn't have a lot of parking so the last thing we wanted to worry about was driving to the hospital when in labor.
