@sea_bass: you have so much great info on the monitor! I didn't know it automatically gave two peaks followed by a high. They shouldn't make you waste sticks those days!! Then it would make sense that I Oed early, like Friday, I didn't test Thursday, but had a low on Wednesday. Thank you!!

@sorrycharlie: I've peed on more than my fair share of tests in the past, but never with any hope. Since I've never had any indication of Oing but this one I got a peak, it feels so much more intense :D I foolishly hid my stash of cheapo tests before vacation because we had a few ppl coming over to watch our cat, but I don't remember where the cheapo ones are hidden! Otherwise I'm pretty sure I'd start POAS like, today haha.

@mrs. bird: I didn't use a monitor but just wanted to be bad and encourage you to test : P especially if its your first 2WW there's something about testing daily that's irresistible! Lol I did it with each cycle til I got my BFP on cycle 3!

@mrs. bird: Just an FYI on the CBEFM once you get "peak" the monitor will automatically follow it with another "peak" then a "high" irrespective of your pee sticks, to make sure you are BDing after the LH surge.

Good luck! I hope you get great news Christmas day!

Thank you all for your input! I guess I'm gonna start Christmas eve & just see what happens. I don't expect to see a BFP, so I don't think I'll be disappointed by starting early : )

I agree that you probably did on Friday. This is the first month I've used a digital OPK in addition to charting. I had a positive on Monday and negative Tuesday (didn't test Sunday - dang it!). I've been charting, too and FF hasn't given me my O day yet, but when I put in a dummy temp it shows that O would have been the day after my positive (Tuesday).

I get O pains when I ovulate, so that's when I start counting us days after the O pains. This last time was first using OPK. I had positives on Mon-Tues and got O pains around 1pm Tues. I would count second day of surge as O day

@Shutterbug: No that's probably reasonable. The month I used the monitor + OPKs + charting, I got crosshairs two days after my first "peak" reading. I still think I Od earlier, but it helped in the waiting process!

I usually use OPKs and chart. I generally get two days of "positives" and then the next day a negative. Then my temp jumps on the morning after that negative, so FF tells me I O'ed on the day of the negative. In your case, I'd guess you O'ed later in the day on Sunday, meaning 10dpo would be next Wednesday. Boxing Day/Kwanzaa BFP? ;)

ETA: I have no idea how the CBEFM works, so my advice may be wrong! But I'd rather think I O'ed later so that I wasn't disappointed with a BFN for no reason. Good luck!

I'd say you Od Friday if the monitor was peak that day and the OPK was negative that night! So Saturday would be 1dpo. But it's all a guess anyway so start testing at 10dpo but don't get super bummed if it's negative :)

ETA: and i basically just repeated what @mrs someone said. haha. Well, I agree!

@Mrs.Someone: I got a peak Friday & Saturday and a high Sunday, Monday I got a low. I know 10dpo is early & not to get bummed, but I just want a start day for testing :D

My best guess is that you probably O'd sometime before that OPK on Friday. So I'd count Saturday as 1dpo. Did the monitor say low on Sunday?

Also, I wouldn't recommend testing at 10dpo, its way too soon, and it would be hard to not be disappointed if its negative. Try to wait until at least 12dpo if you can!

this is the first time i'm in a TWW where i think i may have actually Oed, so i'm feeling impatient. i'm wondering how to count days past O. i know if you're charting you can see if & when you actually Oed, but if you are using OPKs or a monitor, those show you when you're about to O, right? so how do you count how many days past O you are? i had a peak on my monitor on friday & saturday mornings, but a negative digital OPK friday night. not sure what that all means! but what day do you think i count as O day? they say 10DPO is when you could start testing, so ten days after first peak or no because the peak is telling you you're gearing up to O but not O day?
