@.twist.: I went to Dole. Super theme-parky, but they have Dole-whips. It's a do if you have time, otherwise skip. Pearl Harbor is amazing. Buy your tickets in advance! One of my favorite things was just sitting at the beach where pipeline is and watching the surfers.

@Mrs Green Grass: I'm looking forward to Shave Ice like woah! We'll definitely stop there. Thanks!
@sunny: SO many awesome recs! We are so grateful-thanks! I'm going to check in with my OB to make sure I have the all-clear to hike. We don't mind going slow (and will DEFINITELY bring water-likely even my camelbak), and definitely love taking in the gorgeous views!
@sweet_p: I'm jazzed about the Dole plantation! It will be worth the heartburn to indulge in lots of pineapple while there:-). Thanks!
@Grace: We'll have to check out Pali Lookout! Also the Polynesian Cultural Center. I love stuff like that. Thank you!
@AngelicOne: Tropics Bar and Grill-noted. Nachos are definitely on my list of must-eat foods at the moment, so I'll indulge! Thanks!
@.twist.: My husband booked a Pearl Harbor tour, as he knew I'd definitely want to go! Glad to hear you also loved Hanuma Bay. Thanks for the tips!!

Diamond Head is awesome if you can handle it. (About killed me not pregnant lol)

Have fun!

I second the Pali Lookout. We did a bus tour that went up there. Polynesian Cultural Center was awesome (and also closed on a weird day - check the schedule). Did Germaine's Luau. If Hanuma Bay is open, that had the best snorkelling ever, but I heatd they closed it because the coral was getting beat up. Halewa on the north shore is a cute town and you can watch some big surfing.

How fun! I absolutely loved Oahu when we went. Here's my list of recommendations. Hope they help!

Food:
- Boots and Kimos: the pancakes with the banana macadamia nut sauce are to die for.
- Zippy's: we like the saimin bowls, chili and fried chicken.
- Alan Wongs: Hawaiian fusion, finer dining. Make reservations ahead of time if you decide to go here.
- Leonard's Bakery: home of the famous malasadas. Kind of like donuts but better!
- Waiola Shaved Ice
- Giovanni's Shrimp Truck

Things to do:
- Ala Moana Shopping Center
- Hanauma Bay
- Diamond Head
- Nuuanu Pali Lookout
- Dole Pineapple Plantation

Have a great trip! :)

I'm not sure if Diamond Head would be too strenuous of a hike. The last bit to the top is pretty steep. It is beautiful up there though! You can reach Diamond head by bus. Super easy. Bring your own water!!!

Hanauma Bay is also great for snorkeling. You can take the bus there yourself (save some $) or hire a company to take you there (a bit more $). Its closed 1 day a week - check the schedule! If you decide to take the bus, make sure you know when the last bus leaves and then arrive to line up for the bus WELL IN ADVANCE of that. You don't want to have to take a $100 cab ride back into town!

I love catching free hula/Hawaiian music concerts at the various malls. The Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center had some the last time I was there. Some of them are like a live advertisement for the various luau companies.

I enjoyed the Paradise Cove luau. Yes it is touristy, but it I had a lot of fun. Lots of different activities before dinner like crafts, hula lesson, outrigger paddling, etc. They do a big show while you eat dinner.

For authentic hawaiian food, I've seen Rainbow Drive In featured on some Food Network shows (and our luau host recommended it too) though we didn't make it there. Another one is Ono's.

For souvenirs, the cheapest place to go is Walmart near the Ala Moana Center. You can mac nuts, coffee and pretty much anything else you see at the ABC convenience store for cheaper. We walked there from our hotel on Waikiki beach, but its a pretty long walk and I wasn't pregnant back then.

Have a great time! I love Oahu. :-)

Hi everyone-

My very sweet husband just surprised me with a babymoon/early 30th birthday/anniversary trip to Hawaii. We're going to Oahu exclusively (he said he picked the only island with a big hospital, just in case!), and I will be 17 weeks pregnant. Any recommendations on things to do? We're spending two nights in Honolulu, and then three nights in Turtle Bay. I currently have Placenta Previa so am a little limited in activities, but would love info on places to eat, must-see museums, any light/moderate hiking, etc. Thanks in advance for your tips!
