It's standard to go once a month until the third trimester, once every other week in months 7 and 8, then every week in the last month. Your timing seems to match that. My dating ultrasound was at 6 weeks, that was the visit when they ordered bloodwork and did a pelvic exam.

As for the NT scan -- how old are you, if I can ask? My OB said they recommend them for all women over 30, so if you're younger it just may not be standard procedure. I agree if you have questions like this you shouldn't be afraid to ask! They're there to answer :)

Call and ask them when they do the NT scan.

I called and was shocked to find out that my hospital doesn't offer NT scans. I was glad I called, was able to get them to refer me to a hospital out of town where they do do it.

I was offered the NT scan at about 11 weeks.
At my doctors at least they hold off on scheduling the more advanced appointments until after they confirm that the baby is viable.
The NT scan was held at a different facility (Perinatologist office) and the results were sent to my doc.

@chopsuey119: @JustLikeHeaven: @SweetKate: Thanks ladies! I'm excited/anxious of course to get started on the appointments and I'm sure I'll find out a lot more at our first sit-down.
@chopsuey119: Thanks for the full run-down! So many new things to learn the first time around.
@JustLikeHeaven: Thank you for the link. It's funny that my 2nd and 3rd appointments just don't line up with any of those listed.
@SweetKate: I'm not sure whether we will do the NT scan either, I just wondered if it would be offered. Interesting to know that your's would have been a separate appointment. That is helpful!

We opted not to do the NT scan but if we had it would have been an appointment separate from my prenatal appointments and I think it would have been done at the same place I had my anatomy scan.

I had both of my 1st appts at 6 weeks 5 days. Had an u/s to check heartbeat and edd.
Next appt was 2 weeks later to go over family history and to talk with nurse and ob.
NT was at 12 weeks. Had u/s and bloodwork.
Next appt 4 weeks later I forget why
Anatomy scan at 18 weeks 5 days.
Another u/s 2 or 4 weeks later because the tech couldn't see certain veins of the baby's heart
Follow up 4 weeks later.
Gestational diabetes test at 28 weeks.
Just recently had my 3 hour gD at 31 weeks!

So I'm new to the whole pregnancy thing (5w4d today) and I'm trying to figure out all the OB visits. Since ours is an IVF baby, we will have our first u/s at the fertility clinic at 6w6d, I think just to confirm heartbeat and maybe do the EDD although that does always seem weird with IVF since we know when everything happened. Then I'll switch to my OB. When I called the OB, it was a whirlwind of scheduling and I'm still trying to understand all the appointments now.

1st OB appt: 8w3d just a sit down/intro with a nurse - no exam from what I understand.
2nd OB appt: 10w3d with the NP - not sure what we are doing this day (??), presumably an exam, maybe blood work??
3rd OB appt: 14w4d finally with OB - also not sure what we are doing this day (??)

Any thoughts on the timing of these appts? Can you help sort me out? I'm a little confused about when they might do the NT scan (if offered) since I think it would have to be at the second appt. But when I was scheduling things, the receptionist said if I had my 1st u/s at the fertility clinic, I wouldn't have one with the OB until ~20w (which I'm assuming would be the anatomy scan). I'm sure I'll have a lot of questions answered at my 1st OB appt, but I want to be prepared and that is still weeks away. Help (and thank you)!
