Just me personally, I will never see a doctor who is prone to lots of cutting!!! I would switch.

Wow, what an obnoxious a-hole! An hour to dilate to 10? That's enough to freak a lot of mamas out and freeze their labours. Is he the only alternate to awesome guy? If he is, I would definitely start looking. Horrible back-ups were part of the reason I changed midwives at the end of the first trimester and I have no regrets about doing so.

Yikes, I would do whatever I could to avoid c/s guy.

I had a horrible nurse the night before I delivered and I swear her lack of care is what led to my getting a c/s. I was progressing wonderfully, then she came in, did a check and shook her head and said my baby had too big of a head. She didn't listen when I repeatedly told her my epidural wasn't working. There were a few other things also, like the staff the next morning not understanding why she hasn't done certain things. I learned the hard way, but we should have been much more vocal to someone above her sooner.

You don't want to find yourself in a situation you don't need to be in, so maybe you can ask around a find someone (and their backup) that makes you more comfortable.

Is there anyone else that can be a backup at the practice? Do you have local mommy friends that would recommend their OB? I def wouldn't want to risk getting stuck with c-section guy!

My original OB was MEH throughout my entire pregnancy. But I was too lazy and didn't really care about switching since I just don't have any preference or attachments to docs in general.

He totally overwhelmed me during labor when he came in for the first check in (I was at 9cm) and told me that he was going to csection if I didn't progress in an hour to ten. Thankfully, his partner delivered DS because he was caught in a scheduled csection (GO FIGURE) and I've seen his partner every since.

I really like my new ob and just had my one year check with him and am starting to plan for the journey to TTC #2. My fear is that if my OB is caught up, then my old OB would have to part of my delivery!

Should I research OBs outside of the practice, or just hope that I won't get stuck with csection man?
