I agree that a park would be ideal for those with older, more active kids. There's a nice park in Irvine called Citrus Ranch Park that has plenty of benches in the shade for us to eat and a nice park for the kids to play. I live in Huntington Beach area. I'm in for the month of May (weekday/weekend would work). I'm heading back to work on the last week of May so anytime after that, it would have to be a weekend until after June when my work ends for the school year. I think birdofafeather made a good point on Irvine Spectrum being a little too busy. I like the block, I think it has a good mix of indoor/outdoor as it is not as crowded as Irvine Spectrum. </p> <p>I think a good thing to consider is, how many lo ones will be there and how old they are. I know that it is harder when they are younger for us to be able to enjoy lunch and carry on conversations. I like the idea of going to a park where we each can bring a snack/easy type of potluck lunch to share. A park with good shades for the lo and a good play area for older lo. I'm familiar with four mile square park in fountain valley and tewinkle park in costa mesa. Both parks are very nice, plenty of shade and has good play grounds for the lo. </p> <p>I'm sure there are many other kid and shade friendly parks out there. I know there are quite a few of us (moms &amp; not-yet-moms)!</p> <p>The weather is getting nice and the days are getting longer! Let's get together for a meet-up!</p> <p>I think maybe somewhere casual to eat with a large outdoor area (good for LOs and an abundance of strollers) would be ideal! Maybe Corner Bakery at Irvine Spectrum or The Block at Orange? I'm open to other suggestions as well!</p> <p>I'll also include a poll for weekend or weekday preferences to narrow down a date! Anyone interested? </p>
