My LO enjoys lots of sensory baskets and taking things in and out of boxes - so I save small cardboard boxes. I also recently made alphabet letter flash cards for him - I found foam and felt letter stickers at a craft store and made a card for each letter. That keeps him busy for awhile, even if he's just stacking them instead of looking at the letters. We chase each other around the house a lot as he likes playing hide and seek. Helping me clean is also something he enjoys - I let him swiffer, sweep, push our vacuum around.

Try googling Montessori activities, practically any life skills can be made into an activity.

Have you ever seen the book "Slow and Steady Get me Ready"? It has developmental activities laid out by week, and most are really easy and cheap!

I need some cheap in home ideas for keeping DS busy. We don't and can't leave home often so ideas like the park or library won't work for us. We really need some in home options and I'm out of ideas. DS is 17 months old.
