My husband isn't clinically OCD but he is extremely neat and clean. I thought he would have issues with baby care as well but he's actually been really good. He doesn't hesitate to change poop diapers even after being pooped and pee'd on. He does, however, use twice as many wipes as I do and insists that LO eat only in the kitchen (inconvenient but not end of the world).

I know one mom who is OCD but not so much germs or poop either. She was OCD about the kid so the dad wasn't allowed to do much. And of course I came over to teach the kid how to make messes. She left me with him and finger paints and I got him to put paint on his face :)

I have OCD but not about germs or poop. It's a fairly easy behaviour to adjust. Having a baby shouldn't be a problem.

Do you know any parents with OCD? How does it affect their parenting.... and their spouse as a parent? I have a friend with OCD who is hoping to have a baby soon and I worry that he'll be too grossed out by poop, spit up, etc. (he doesn't do well with germs and poop) and his wife will end up having to do all the dirty work. I know for most people it's different when it's your baby. Is that true for those with OCD too?
