@travelgirl1: Thanks! I put shorts on her after her first big morning pee. (The past two days she has woken up with a wet pull-up and then doesn't pee again for about an hour.) She had an accident at first but totally got it and then no accidents for the rest of the morning. She even said, "Uh oh, pee pee in the potty!" while we were on a walk and booked it back to the house (and ended up with a scraped knee). I'm proud of her! Just need to get her to poop!

I would start now. If she has an accident in her trousers it might help her "get it" as there will be no underwear to catch it. This was quite a game changer for us. I will warn against leggings though, they must feel like a diaper with their tight fit and we had a poop in leggings within 5 minutes!

@Smurfette: It does sound like that but then on her blog she says that if your LO saves their poop for their nap time diaper, to not stress about it at first and that for many it will work itself out. If it doesn't, you need to nap / night train.

So... I don't know!

I think you are supposed to wait till they poop on the potty before moving to block 2.

Oh, hey, did you know we are potty training? :silly:

I'm trying to decide if we should try loose pants (commando) and maybe a very short trip out tomorrow. LO had no pee accidents today and we took a 15 minute walk around the block with her commando in a dress with no incidents. She has only self-initiated a few times but will usually go when I prompt her. Poop has been a bit of a challenge but I think that's normal and I don't think it should hold us back...?

This is what OCPT says about moving from Block 1 (bottomless) to Block 2 (commando & short outings):

<<A successful completion of Block One should look something along the lines of your child, while naked, can sit to pee and poop on the potty. This can be because you prompted, you led him, or he went on his own.

As soon as you get a sense of hope or that a lightbulb has lit up in your child’s head, it’s time to move on to clothes.>>

And this is what she says about starting Block 2:

<<Both you and your child should have a sense of when the pee is happening when you start this block.>>

I think LO mostly knows when she is going to pee but she doesn't say/do anything - I am watching her cues like a hawk. A few times she has said, "Pee pee on the potty!" but most of the time I see her do the pee pee dance and say, "Time to try the potty," and she will go. I'm wondering if I should let her go longer before prompting tomorrow to see if she will initiate or at least indicate that she needs to go? This is the one part that makes me think maybe we need to stay on Block 1 tomorrow - but she also says it can take up to 3 weeks for self-initiation so that's confusing!
