After my co-workers threw me a baby shower, I wrote an email and thanked everyone. I also brought in breakfast for everyone (bagels, pastries, juice/coffee) as a thank you gift.

After my co-worker’s shower, she gave each of the ladies that had planned the shower and made the food hand written thank-you cards, and then sent out a mass email to all who had donated to the gift card (we kept a list of who donated, and gave her the list when she asked).

@katdevargas: I always write "Thank you for the generous gift" when the gift was money. If it was a gift card, I say the same thing, but add the word "card" to the end.

I wrote individual thank you notes to everyone who gave me anything from my office shower, but I also work with a very small group of people. I found wording online that I thought was really polite & it said:
"Also—and this is important—never directly mention money. ‘Thank you for the hundred bucks’ could instead be ‘Thank you for your generosity.’ All cash denominations become ‘your generosity’ or ‘your kindness.’ If you feel the giver overspent, the farthest you can go is appreciated: ‘Your generosity is appreciated,’ or ‘It is such an extravagant gift—your kindness is appreciated.’
...allude to how you will use the money, but do not itemize your planned purchases line by line, instead simply say: ‘It will be a great help when we purchase our new home/toaster/lava lamp/whatever.’"

that helped me out a lot & so that's what I did.

Yeah, I would just send an email to everyone who attended, and thank them all for the card. DH's office did a similar thing where they presented him with a group card that had a substantial Amazon gift card in it. We just sent along an email thank you to the whole office, since there was no obvious way to send individualized thank you notes.

This is a great question! My work shower is a week from today, so I'll probably do the email thank you as well. I also might get something special for the two teachers who put the whole thing together, just like I gave hostess gifts for my other showers.

That was so nice of everyone at your office! I think sending an email would be good.

Yeah, I would send out a nice email out to your office for the monetary gift and then may buy a large fruit/chocolate basket and leave it out for all to share as an extra thank you?

Last Friday my office hosted a baby shower for me. I received a lot of gifts which I will be writing thank you notes for. However, I was also given a card with a good amount of cash in it. I'm not sure who all gave cash or how much they gave. How do I thank them for it? Should I send out an email to all who attended thanking them for attending?
