My supply was crazy when I pumped (could pump over 40 oz a day), but not when I nursed.

Glad pumping works for you!

@sloaneandpuffy: Yeah that's the other thing. The pump and my pump schedule at work are so reliable, which helps.

I am all over the place on this -- sometimes it seems nursing is better and sometimes pumping is better. But I think the thing about pumping is that I am more consistent about it, doing it around the same time every day, every 3 hours while I'm at work. And nursing is kind of unpredictable.

@Meggo5: She always been a gentle sucker, even if she is latched on well (which is touch and go as it is)

Might take this new knowledge and fit in a few pump sessions on the weekends.

That's really awesome! I would be fine supply wise if I didn't pump. But I've noticed an increase in supply since I've been back at work pumping. I think it's because he only usually takes 2 bottles while I'm gone, but I pump twice which would equate to 4 feedings.

That's fantastic! Glad that the pumping is helping a bit. I am wondering if her latch may be preventing her from being as efficient as she needs? Just glad that you're seeing good milk when you pump!

I know this is largely not the case for most, but my pump seriously does a better job getting milk out than my baby. We just had a long weekend out of town, where I nursed exclusively, and my supply is down this morning from where it was before we left.

Since I've been back at work and pumping, my supply has been increasing and increasing. That was my first clue.

In case I was wondering, this has officially sealed the deal for me.

Anyone else?
